The Army Painter has revealed two new Historical paint sets for you to use with your World War II miniatures. These new sets cover the British 8th Army for your Desert War skirmishes and a Soviet Union collection for those embittered fighters on the Eastern Front.

WWII British 8th Army Paint Set - The Army Painter

World War II British 8th Army Paint Set // The Army Painter

This set comes with all of the colours that you'd need for bringing the British 8th Army to life on the tabletop during your World War II battles in North Africa. All of the paints within the set are grounded in historical research, authenticated by Dr Stephen Bull, giving you a great way to create authentic troops on the battlefield.

You get a set of nine paints within the set that cover the uniforms of the British 8th Army and also that Soft Tone wash for when you need to blend everything together. This should mean that you've got what you need to paint the British from Operation Crusader through to El Alamein. It can be used on your classic British troops through to the Commonwealth forces that aided across North Africa.

Soviet Union Paint Set

As well as the heat of the desert, The Army Painter are also turning their attention to the Eastern Front and the Soviet Union.

This set has once again been authenticated by Dr Stephen Bull and represents the various looks of the Soviet Union throughout the course of World War II. It should allow you to paint the various uniforms, camouflage, helmets and weaponry of the Soviets from 1941 through to 1945.

To represent that, the set comes with a lot more paints than those for the British 8th Army. You get fourteen paints, four washes, one metallic paint and one of the effects paints from The Army Painter range. It should allow you to paint the colourful outfits of the Soviet sailors through to the dirty and well-worn khakis of the Soviets who were dug into the ruins of Stalingrad.

Both of these sets come with painting guides to help you get started, plus a DipIt Brush, which is only available with pre-orders of these particular packs. They are on pre-order right now ahead of a 16th May release date, so not long to wait. There is also more from the Historical range to dive into HERE.
