Rulers and terrain
I never in my life would have thought I would spend this much time painting a bunch of rulers.
I did two sets of measuring tools for Shatterpoint, but for those it was just black spray primer, drybrush metallic silver (or blue for the second set), and done.
These, however, demanded a much more colorful approach. Black primer was probably a mistake, as I had to do coat after coat to get the colors flat and even (and yes, I did the trick of underpainting pink for the yellow ones). Still, they came out well. I especially like the movement rulers.
The terrain that comes in the core box was a lot more fun. The cars, dumpsters and light posts were done with as little effort as possible, although I did overachieve a bit on the taxi cab.
I went all out on the newspaper kiosk, pulling some Daily Bugle images from the trusty ol’ internet to festoon the windows with. Plus I made up a Dazzler poster for the back of the kiosk.
