Admitting I have a terrain problem

I have a whole series of Knights of Dice terrain I purchased specifically for Entropy City and Ive been very very happy with not just how it looks but the compliments I get about how good it looks, so for a long time Ive been ignoring how problematic it is to transport these things on my Motorbike, it ruined a battlefoam bag due to its weight and my “solution” was to put it in a a heavy duty storage tub and call it a day but after playtesting the game with someone whod never tried it before I realised something.

Im a moron, okay okay maybe thats not it, maybe it is you be the judge. Look MDF terrain isnt designed to be transported, its beautiful but its heavy, I should be saving it for big events when the game reaches marketing time. So I need an alternative terrain set thats lighter and easier to transport.

So how simple do I go? I mean I could in theory go as far as foldable card terrain that would certainly be a lot easier to transport but would be a massive downgrade. The alternate idea would be some 3d printed solutions, because if done properly they will be lighter, the size of terrain is something I want to be more careful about as well.

This is a couple of “paper terrain” options I could buy from Fat Dragon games, I would have it printed in card personally but thats just me, but I would have to have then printed by an office supply place so not entirely sure if Id even have the options that come in the sets themselves. Realistically the solution is LIKELY a combination of both, so I have another excuse to want an FDM printer right haha

I use modern terrain for all of my Entropy City and thats going to be the solution going forward, this wont be an over night solution but I cant delay on it, travelling with that tub is just not safe any more.

I’ve been playing with the idea of cardboard terrain for some time, even tried some and it just doesn’t want to stay squared. My last Idea was to use XPS blocks as interior supports and the cardboard just being a “sleeve” but I never tested that.
