Yes please! Hope there is an authentic “Carmine must die!” locust card for an all out assault on the unluckiest CoG troops. Also, solo play rules, great. Yes I could turn on my xbox but this generates random levels and weapons, potentially offering more variety. Still buying Gears 3 too though 😉
Looks very interesting- not keen on custom dice but makes gameplay nice and simple. Minis are good for a board game. FFG vids are always really good.
Wonder if computer dudes will pick this up?
Its certainly something to think about – if more people from the video gaming market start to get into board games it means better for everyone and we have more people to wrangle into giving it a go lol 🙂
I’ve had this game on pre-order for months now and can’t wait to get my mitts on it. Along with Super Dungeon Explore are the two board games exciting me the most at the moment. I just hope it plays well and keeps me and my friends interested long enough. As for moving computer game fans over to board games, it might get some Gears fans buying it because its a branded product. Converting those guys into board or wargamers will be difficult though. Its a great franchise for Fantasy Flight to get though and should be a money spinner for them because there are a huge section of wargamers who also play computer games like me, and product like this just ticks all the right geek boxes for me.
Just got Maelstrom email which contains 20% off code for Fantasy Flight Boardgames. Instant preorder. Willpower remaining = 0
🙂
Nice tip! Hadn’t thought of that.
who the hell did they get for voice-over work, his voice makes me want it!!
This looks like It will be great fun to play, as well as those lovely models to apint. When does it come out?
3rd quarter of this year from the article I think – so not long at all.
WOW this Looks fantastic!!! DAMN YOU Fantasy Flight Games, why do you insist on rapeing my bank account!
It’s consenting and you know it 😉
Well I heard his bank account was a bit of a goer… just saying!!! 😛
Looks awesome!
COLE TRAIN WHOOP
Whoo! Yeah! Bring it on sucka! This my kinda sh*t!
This looks like the future! Looks superb, and a great setting.
As an avid boardgamer I am seriously considering getting this, just hope it lives up to the canon of Gears properly
My friendly local store opened one of these up yesterday and allowed me to give it a spin (I’ll be painting up the figures, see). I played Emergence as Fenix (almost chose Cole), and I have to say: it’s fun, brutal, and keeps getting better! The models are by far some of the best I’ve ever seen in plastic, probably getting close to Citadel Finecast or even Forge World. I’ll enjoy playing it again with other people, probably almost as much as I’ll look forward to painting the miniatures.
