Really happy to see this video! With the two mercs battleboxes long since out of production, the faction often gets overlooked when it comes to discussing how to get started in WM.
This is one of the cooler looking army boxes IMHO. Hope they make a plastic box of them some time in the near future.
Does the video futz up around the 44 minute mark for anyone else?
working fine for me si 🙂
No worries, must be a network issue here at work. It plays fine on my phone over 3g 🙂
Result!! Managed to get Mercs ahead of the Swans, Cryx or Elves 🙂
Hope I didnt jabber my love of these too much lol.
very nice lil tips and tricks in there! was a little sad you didn’t choose any Rhulic units but the dwarves don’t get much love in warmachine *sigh* also was very surprised you didn’t include eiryss although i believe that she was hinted at towards the end of the vid 😉
No Rhulic love?
Ooooh, I get it. They will get their own episode. Looking forward to that one! 😉
Rhulic are fine but not good for a new player to start with from the Battle Box.
Can you say Forge Guard are better for a new player than what we recommended?
Discuss
No, you are correct. Those you recommended are better for a new player for sure.
Just wanted to hear your guys opinions and a few pointers on the Rhulic stuff 🙂
Lol get a Facebook petition asking for a Rhulic expansion (there was a Rhulic Battle Box 😉 ) and we shall see what we can do.
i was thinking more the high shield gun corps myself excellent little anchor for your battleline and able to outlast most other shooty units in the game. but do get rhulic stuff is a little difficult to get a good hold on.
I’m not sure the Rhulic side needed any extra attention other than maybe a battlebox breakdown, recommending Thor and an extra jack or two, and making a notation of the distinction between how human and dwarf jacks interact with limited warcasters. Searforge is not recommended for new players so the highborn and fourstar models will work out fine. I suppose it could be a 20-30 minute addendum to this video.
another good video, looking forward to seeing what you say about the Retribution
quick note, causing terror or being an abomination does not cause the model to become fearless, so will still take command test when needed (from other things that are terror causing, and the usual stuff)
Shhh other people might notice our errors 😉
Ok I had a Warhammer flashback 😛
So how many did you guess right this week then?
got the Nomad, but was expecting some more of the “plain” stuff so sea dogs and the likes
also on the note of Mercs: new Merc troll solo…
Great vid guys, good to see some mercs love. after watching this (and some consultation with @dais) think some nyss and gorman are going to be high on my shopping list to go with my pdenny cryx.
and talking of cryx i got a sneaking suspicion the vid is going to be
units – bane thralls, mechanithralls, satyxis raiders
solos – skarlock, siren, pistol wraith
jacks – seether and stalker
casters – pgaspy, pskarre
Lol I think when we recorded it its was:
Units: Cephalyx Slaver, Black Ogrun and Revenant Crew
Solos: Iron Lich Overseer and Bloat Thrall
Jacks: Scavenger and Desecrator
Casters: Venethrax and pGorshade
Though I may be lieing 😉 Have to wait and see
Haha!
Its sad. I’ve been playing Cryx for two years. And I had to look up the Scavenger jack, didn’t recognize the name…
Might as well throw in the Corruptor 😉
A couple of Scavangers with Mortenebra is certainly no laughing matter. I haven’t really had great success with them outside of Mortenebra, but that’s still something.
Very true!
You just convinced me to buy two of them to use with Mortenebra. She is one of those casters I throw on the table just for kicks. She’s not the best. But it doesn’t matter, she is fun to play, and is an awsome character design-wise.
And oh, good video! Really liking these Battlebox and Beyond videos. Keep up the good work. 🙂
