Happy Sunday!
Lots of lovely artwork to behold.
And please tell me that Mother Nature has extended the end of Spring until 30th June 😂
Went to TGI’s at the NEC Last April. The wait for food was looooonnng.
Yeah I cant say Ive ever had an experiance at TGI Fridays that wasnt exeedingly long and disappointing, so its the same in Australia
Shay has gone?….I hope he took his 6mm ACW stuff with him to finish off
Peter Dennis for me all day long but the first artwork that attracted me to all things hobby would be Roy Cross who was responsible for all the early Airfix model art. It made me want to build the models, collect the 1/35 & 1/72 soldiers and play out battles on my bedroom floor. Sci-fi wise it’s the front cover of Rogue trader and the painting of Mike McVey. As I’m currently knee deep in Napoleonics, it is purely art that inspires the painting of the miniatures and it is clear that artistic license is a thing, as reference books and artists have differing opinions on colours and styles of the same uniform, so what I thought was a very ridged set of painting schemes (if you believe the grognards) is actually pretty fluid.
Also TGI Fridays in the World Resort NEC is a marvellous place of wonder. Firstly you wonder what is left available on the menu, then you wonder when it will arrive, when it finally arrives you wonder what the thing is in front of you and why it bares to resemble the description on the menu or what you had discussed with the waitress, and lastly you wonder if anyone will ever come back to your table so that you can pay for the disappointment. Unless you are special, cos then you get Ice Cream …… IYKYK! 🍨🍨😳🤣
Art is important to the hobby and that’s why we always have a piece of art on the front cover of Irregular Magazine, with even some of them created especially for the mag cover.
Hi XLBSers
Gerry many send a minion when he wants something ?
Fabulous looking dwarfs for gaming with 👍
Great show. Interesting Indie this week – unusually I’ve not seen this one before so I’ll definitely check it out as I have a naughty dwarf project on the back burner.
Art is so important in fantasy and sci-fi gaming as it helps us envision the worlds we are building in. We’ve been discussing this in the forum too and you have covered a lot of the same ground as we did.
Lovely GBs this week. Congratulations to the winners.
Great show guy’s 👍
OMG OMG OMG Thanks guys a huge surprise to see my project picked out.
The Dwarves were indeed done in a very quick manner, something of a hyper focus, build primed and completed within 8 days (not counting the foam)
Tried to capture the process as best I could, including my mistake half way through
Happy Sunday.
Hold up…. I’m at 32:40 and have to pause the video. @shayott is gone? How dare he! He owes us a ACW project and battle report! I’ll now watch the rest of the XLBS with a grumpy face.
Happy SUNDAY…
