    if not acid then surely alcohol is a solution … right ?

    I heard pigs also do quite a good job.

    @limburger if you watch Deadwood, the pigs are indeed a cleaning system

    Did Warzan do some consulting for Nolan’s movie ?
    there’s Viking ships in the Greek tragedy.

    @grantinvanman Logic, comprehension and science… the foundation of 40k lore and any good sci-fi game

    @limburger alcohol is indeed a solution. I strongly agree that both soju and vodka are material evidence that organic chemistry is a noble path of enquiry for hard proof in this world

    As far as @warzan consultation I believe he has successfully defended the practice of Gaming in the Gaps. Previous issues he has pursued have included such things as Hannibal using elephants going for tea in India, something about ancient Egyptian camel excursions for tiffin (afternoon tea) around the “pydamids” and clearing up general confusion around the Late Middle Dark Ages.

    This all is a great starting point into a doctoral thesis of theoretical physics and mathematics for probabilities of  alternative timelines. This working group is now in order and we shall commence with seeking hard proof to give reasoned evidence for our claims that tiny fighting men can infact be plausible and accurate historical recreations of loosely substantiated events. How else can we have the historical documents of ‘Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter’ and ‘Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter’ be given credit?

    @limburger apparently Nolan didn’t pay damages done to those ships, either!

    Link was forbidden (stupid) but is all over Reddit if anyone cares to look.

    @horati0nosebl0wer 👌🤣

    @grantinvanman it’s bloody typical for rich dudes and big companies to screw over the little people. I’m sure there’s likely a ‘technical correct’ interpretation of the contract that allowed them to do that. There’s also the usual crowd of suck-ups that defend the practice …

    Yet more reason to avoid seeing that dark & depressing intepretation of an ancient Greek myth.

    Anyways …  it’s friday and weekend is so close I can smell it 🙂

    @limburger – it’s a small club, and we ain’t in it!

    All too true. Friday comes … this weekend I probably get to pick appliances for the new house. Yay, but also, expensive.

    Watched the new He-Man movie tonight. It’s frankly terrible, nothing like the cartoon, almost zero campiness and zero gay coding. They missed by a LOT compared to the classic series. But a few funny moments, it is watchable.

    nah … it really is the weekend.

    (just imagine that one scene from a Fish called Wanda … if you can’t view that clip.)

    Today’s project was building a Bianchi bike and getting it ready to get back in riding shape – I’m a fat bastard, no longer the distance cyclist I was.

    Goal: take this bike to Tuscany in fall 2027 and ride a retro cycling event.

    how is that bike ‘retro’ ?
    Unless that’s a heavy steel frame.

    oh … I just spotted the oddly placed gearing handle.
    I guess that is ‘retro’.

    The pedals do look modern. I’d rather have standard pedals on a bike, because they’re no fun when you need to ride in real traffic where you need emergency stops.

    Music … courtesy of ‘AI’ … 😉

    @limburger Columbus Zona all-steel frame; Brooks leather saddle; Campagnolo 10 speed groupset with downtube and exposed shifters and center-pull rim braking. Pedals are indeed modern for now (came with MKS and cages) but I have only clipless SPD shoes. For now…

    Certified for L’Eroica races. That’s about as retro as it gets…

    ‘clipless’ is such an odd name. You do clip in. Silly people.
    I guess it is the technically correct way of naming those pedals, but I still don’t like it.

    Only reason I have ‘clipless SPD shoes’ is because it makes riding my trikes easier. I tried them on my regular recumbent … and it sucked, because you can’t do a quick emergency stop with those things (and you really only have barely a second before you’re on the ground … ). Bonus advantage is that you can wear comfortable shoes too, because that is another disadvantage of the system as the shoes barely qualify as shoes.

    Anyways … enough rambling.
    I’ve had Claude writing code for me in the background. I doubt I can finish today as the weekly limit is almost up.
    That’s ok, because maybe I can focus on some other things I should do today 😀
