Read all of this before you start as it will save you any trouble later.

First thing you must do is make your “pledge”. It can be anything gaming related, big or small, and you don’t even have to finish it. No, in here, happiness is the road. Have fun doing whatever it is, but it is not a race. Accompany your work with pictures or we might think you are do something sinister and just using us for cover.

You are also presented with a few questions. It is to get the conversation started. Try and keep your answers ‘conversational’, no text speak, and certainly no “basically”. This is how we all get to know each other better. While you are here feel free to tell us a story, show a picture, joke, tales of love or woe, or just add your own little bit. This is the whole point…in here it is just us.

If you have never taken part before we may bark and bite, but we also like a cuddle! It is all done in the best possible taste and it is character building. feel free to give as good as you get.

A few other things to note: NO RELIGION & NO POLITICS! Glasgow pub rules are in effect. If you need to make a better point then it is fine, but don’t take the piss. And always keep it civil. This includes no philosophy, no home computer culture wars.

Play plenty of music to go with your work. Loud and through proper speakers. Write us a playlist of things we might not have heard before.

Now, after all of that there is only one ‘real’ rule in here and it cannot be broken: NO DICKS! (Exceptions may be made for little fighting men with little plastic/resin/metal wieners)

And don’t forget the highlights of the weekend: The Weekender on Friday and XLBS on Sunday. And the little show that is The Hobby Hangout over at twitch.tv

If you fancy to see some nice WIP pictures go to the WAYPN thread https://www.ontabletop.com/forums/topic/what-are-you-painting-now-2025-edition/

    ### End of shameless copy and paste ###

    Question of the week:

    • When you’re not at work (assuming you have a regular job and are not in retirement or (Nuffle forbid) without any employment) how do you keep track of time?!

And now back to the show.

Pledge: maybe to some hobby, maybe clean hobby space (again). I did do a lot of hobby reading.

Answer: I totally loose control on time. I have to look at the calendar to remind me what day it is XD And I feel it refreshing not to worry about appointments and stuff.

    Some music:

@sundancer I’m surprised you are here on your holidays but always grateful for the change of thread.

Pledge:  Get some minis painted for Kings of War

Answer:  I worked in education and we were totally controlled by the clock.  When I worked in schools the bell used to ring to tell us (not the students) that it was time to turf them out before the next lot arrived.  FE wasn’t much better, even when I was teaching adults, although thankfully no bell.  I have a great internal clock and used to know what time it was to within a couple of minutes any time of day, even if I hadn’t seen a clock in hours.  When teaching you need a good sense of timing as you have things to do and a very limited time to get it all done in.  Perhaps that’s why I have a natural affinity with timelines and deadlines.

Can’t see your music video in the UK @sundancer  Let’s have a bit of a bop:

Pledge: no hobby; weather is far too nice to be inside. Time to ride!

Time… I retired 6 years ago. All my time is mine!

Pledge – Finish my saintly entry for the community comp, maybe get some other painting done now that the weather has let up a bit 🙂

As for time, its mastery eludes me; I’m forever losing track of the hour, day, month, year.

    Pledge… I remember pledges… they’re the things I keep failing at.

I keep track of days by looking at my phone at some point and noticing it has the day, date and time.

My stomach tells me when it is time to eat.

I did put this on Discord but you lot need to this too

What is this? A crossover episode? Is Gerry Lloyd? Or is Lloyd Gerry? Are they both Johnston? Or none of them? Does that mean if Gerry builds his Rome Lloyd will have done it? MA BRAIN!

wait a minute … I thought I had posted something, but I did not ?
    weird …

As I was saying : I tend to completely loose track of time when I’m not at work.
Weekends ? One small nap and it feels like I’ve got 3 day weekends instead of 2 …
Holidays ? It’d be a miracle if I have something even resembling a regular schedule before the last day.  There’s been times when I’ve managed to switch day and night cycles.

Only reason I manage to arrive somewhere on time is because I set alarms and make sure to not distract myself.
That also means that when there’s a single appointment on a day that I get nothing done and the entire day feels like a waste.

I need a stable reference to help me grounded. That can be as simple as a scheduled meeting or a stream that arrives like clockwork on a tuesday or friday. So yeah … missing those events or them not happening on the scheduled time is more than a little annoying.

I rode to HD today, and realized this was just another version of what I had in pretty colours …

    IMG_1854

so I passed on the “new bike”; I upgraded my existing bike instead.

I feel like this is like an Ork, going to the Mek lab, and being spoiled for choice. Did use my Dremel to add my Odin (Calgary MC clothing company) and my 2026 HOG pin to my leather vest – I always ride with armour under this in some form anyway.

If the heat slows, I will do some hobby – until then, it’s ride, ride, ride! Because winter is so bloody long…

Pledge: Work on stuff and not be a total lounge-about, clean the hobbyspace a bit

When you’re not at work how do you keep track of time?!

When does my brother’s dog get fed? When are my meals eaten? When is the Hitlercast/Weekender/Sexual BS? When do I meet with friends at the FLGS? With a crap sleep schedule I try and keep track of these things with day star cycles as well with some success.

Does it stand to reason that a SAGA Age of Magic army based on Goths should have their leather wearing members be divided into those with armor and those without with the monster units made up mostly of vampires?

    Yes.

    I think.

I’m a little rusted on my chemistry.

Yes it does.  For as much reason as that sentence can stand anyway 😀
