I can testify to that from my part of the world…. my 97 CBR900RR is Factory Red and scares the bejesus out-a-me when I bury the speedometer needle! Scary part is it keeps going faster after the needle stops.
It must be the color! Right? 🤔
July 26, 2026 at 3:36 pm #1980555July 26, 2026 at 4:50 pm #1980564Bianchi though should be one colour, and one colour only, Celeste Green.
900cc – that’s ADORABLE! My Sportster is 1200, and my two softails are 1924cc each. 😁
The Sporty will wheelie if not careful, the tuned Softail Low Rider will do an ungodly speed – I’ve never found out where the end point is! The Bob is a ripper, and is getting Stage 1 air filter and exhaust soon.
July 26, 2026 at 7:10 pm #1980565that’s why my first trike is red … for extra speed 😉
my current trike is black as the night.I really should take some time to get it ready to ride again. I haven’t used it far too long, because I somehow felt it was too much effort to use (special shoes, a change of clothes for work and making sure the battery was full). It also doesn’t help that I really should get it serviced, but the local bike shop didn’t want to do it. Add to this that getting it on public transport was quite a bit of work (it is too wide for the elevators) … oh and did I mention that they put restrictions on the kind of bikes you’re allowed to have on a train ? Somehow my trike is an issue, but someone carrying the equivalent in luggage isn’t.
Anyways …
Here’s Felicia Day playing a game:

Today I cleaned the hobby room / home office. I can see carpet again XD
July 29, 2026 at 7:09 pm #1980984I finished another batch of Heroes of Might and Magic 3 models. Only two more batches to go!

July 29, 2026 at 10:07 pm #1980994@danlee Loving your work on the giant snake! I found patterned snakeskin a bit of a challenge but yours looks ace.
In other news my next article for the Kings of War series was published today. You can check it out here: https://www.ontabletop.com/kings-of-war/veteran-wargamers-journey-into-kings-of-war-part-3/
In it I discuss the different army build types that are common to Kings of War. I don’t remember using a system where there is quite as much focus on this aspect of list building. Has anyone else seen this in other gaming systems?
July 29, 2026 at 10:54 pm #1980995My brother is guilty of being a plague bearer. I can’t keep a long span of attention right now but my brain did enjoy this offering by YouTube. Deep thought but approachable.

and I wonder if it was caused by the verbal diarrhoea uttered by the orange man with the bad wig being spread to the country.

Orwell’s “Newspeak” would like to have a word 😉
but yeah … language is a killer.
The annoyingly loud background music made me turn it off.Fun fact:
IIRC in Metal Gear Solid : Phantom Pain the big evil weapon … is a virus that turns language into a weapon.CCG’s like Magic the Gathering did a much better job at killing FLGS’s than GW ever could. At best they’re the final nail in the coffin.
It all comes down to two simple things : money & convenience.A shop can’t operate if it can’t sell enough product to pay the rent every month.
And to efficiently sell product you need something that maximises return of investment for minimal shelf space and effort. That’s why the classic FLGS that is still making a profit will have 3 things :
– CCG’s as the money maker
– GW 40k/AoS as the only ‘wargame’ (if they sell them at all)
– a tiny shelf of D&D rulebooks …And with WotC moving towards a digital only model in their latest edition … that 3rd tier is going to die real soon (anyone remember the golden era when they were still selling adventures and mini campaigns?).
I’m tempted to say that DriveThruRPG and Kickstarter are the only things that are keeping RPG’s alive at the moment.
One big problem for the industry that supports our hobby is that you don’t really need anything beyond the rules.
You only go to a shop because you’re trading money for time.We only buy minis, because GW managed to indoctrinate into thinking that we need ‘official’ miniatures to play the games.
We buy our terrain … because GW managed to make us forget that we could make it ourselves.3D printing is doing a bit of damage as well, but the barrier to entry is quite high and it usually becomes the hobby if you want to get proficient at it …
