@Robert The celts look great, mate! The woad on them is a really nice touch.
Not been very productive for the past few days, but I am trying to get more work done on my Hussar. After he’s done, I’m not sure what I will do next, but my Crimean War Highlander is a distinct possibility…
June 24, 2020 at 8:55 pm #1543193So you know how often it’s said that men never read the instructions? Turns out after looking at the painting instructions on my Hussars there were a few mistakes… 😛 I’m going to do a project log update with all the details, but at least it meant more work got done! Every silver lining has a cloud and all that. Here’s the progress on the German with a stick up his arse!

June 24, 2020 at 9:17 pm #1543218Highlanders done. Well, this lot at least. Roughly another 50 to go to get two battalions done, but I think I’m going to stagger those batches out a bit.

@crazyredcoat Case of conflicting information? I’ll go have a read of your project update.
@Robert The freehand shields are looking good.
June 24, 2020 at 9:22 pm #1543219@scribbs A case of poor assumptions garnered from mildly incomplete research. 😛 Nice work on the Highlanders, not too much longer and you’ll have a full brigade! 😛
June 24, 2020 at 10:11 pm #1543235June has been unusual productive, and I’m trying to keep momentum going, but my pace is undoubtedly going to drop soon.
June 24, 2020 at 10:47 pm #1543256Got these painted up while listening to Cult Radio… poopt now!

June 24, 2020 at 11:29 pm #1543278@crazyredcoat aren’t germans born with a stick up their arse? Historical accuracy is one thing that has put me off paint my Naps… one day!
@scribbs loving your work on the angry Scotsmen!
June 25, 2020 at 12:10 am #1543285@Robert I’d have to ask a German midwife to be sure, but I think it became optional in the 90’s. 😛
June 25, 2020 at 12:32 am #1543289My pledge this week was to make some terrain. But I got distracted.
Not just with app-coding, but with my little Day of the Tentacle miniatures. So I started a diorama. But that’s almost like terrain, isn’t it?
June 25, 2020 at 12:46 am #1543290@blinky465 Dioramas are just terrain with minis stuck to them. Looks amazing!
June 25, 2020 at 2:31 am #1543291So I seem to be posting a lot, but for some reason today was one of those hyper productive moments… The Hussar Officer is done! No longer is he Johan von Major, but a man of many colours beyond grey! Also he doesn’t actually have a name. I’d call him Jeffrey, but that’s not very German…

I’ll be putting up another project post later with some more pictures, then tomorrow I’ll get him glue to the horse, which will be a bit more comfortable for the poor chap.
June 25, 2020 at 7:16 am #1543350@crazyredcoat Josef. Or Willibald.
June 25, 2020 at 1:22 pm #1543501@Robert – that’s some amazing freehand pattern painting! Even simple stuff like vertical stripes can be difficult, to get the stripes to follow the shape of the cloth, but I think you nailed it. Nice work.
June 25, 2020 at 9:59 pm #1543631@sundancer Perhaps Willibald von Balding? After all, that gigantic furry hat could be compensating for quite the bald spot. 😛
And here he is!
