yeah but I don’t have a green can available right now… sometimes this hobby is really a practice in pain.
Isn’t that why we’re all here? Wish I knew more about airbrushes to offer some help but I have one of those cheap, very dodgy ones from Amazon which is useless for pretty much everything
I agree with you on Lovecraft Investigations. Enjoyed the others and downloaded new season for transfer to ipod
I had no idea they were doing another one so I’m well chuffed. Only managed the first episode yesterday but I have a quiet evening of hobby tonight so I’ll be able to get properly into it.
Time flies and it’s already Thursday. (I think)
Haven’t had time to try the “yet again cleaned airbrush” again. Hope everybody is feeling well and is looking forward to the next two months… because it’s Christmas in 2 months. Get your presents ready now!
I’ve been up in Wales visiting family since Tuesday. It hasn’t stopped raining. It’s Friday already?! Wow.
Won’t be gone till Sunday night so no hobbying for me until the next forum post. But I quite fancy going on a bit of a splurge and doing some painting when I get home.
I’ve not really felt much like painting for a while, but now I’m not able to, I really miss it!

The odd thing is: when I’m at work I crave doing hobby, I have so many ideas and feel so invigorated…
And then I get home and just want to sit and watch video or read or do nothing. Like a bad TV episode.
Storm Babet has made the priming I need to do impossible but has been the perfect excuse for locking myself in for the weekend. Looking at those Bretonnian models all week, I can feel a new Basilean Kings of War army starting in Q1…
your paint isn’t thin enough – that’s more than likely causing the bubbling. Or your needle is shot, or there’s fast drying accumulation at the tip of your needle.
I’ve been airbrushing for over 20 years; my current set up is an Iwata dual compressor with a tank. I run three airbrushes – although obviously one I have to swap in when needed.
Brush one is an Iwata 0.2mm HP-BH, it’s laser-focus fine.
Brush two is my all-purpose, a SATA, 0.3mm. I use it for everything from priming to doing almost fine work. It’s a workhorse.
Brush three is an Iwata large cup, midway between an airbrush and an automotive spray gun. I use it for large areas (like priming a goalie mask, and the auto lacquer to finish the mask).
The best paints ALMOST ALWAYS need to be thinned. My current favourite for miniatures is AK v3 – they can be sprayed to limited extent straight from the dropper. They don’t dry as fast, which means less clogging.
I also have a large collection of Createx Professional that I use when I’m doing a new goalie mask, although, I’ve used them occasionally with miniatures too. Their metallic line is superb. Lots of additives to make them do what I want though.
Another thing to look at is your pressure. I run 18-20 psi TOPS. With a water trap, and filtered. All my connections are gas-taped for zero loss. It’s worth it.
Hope this helps!
