I’ve got the same fear with the gripping beast plastics. I must say they’re not super fragile and the sculpts are really nice but less heroic scale means thinner, more delicate weapons. I’ve struggled to clip them cleanly from the frames too. One sword got bent just coming out of the box.
I’ve just been out to get a more precise hobby knife purely to deal with these minis! I’m certainly hoping they’re going to come out nicely. Lessons learned.
Gripping Beast do or at least used do some very nice metal weapon packs that might be handy to replace the plastic ones
Very tempted by the dane axes for my hearthguard but not sure on my modelling skill to actually drill and reposition the hands correctly. That’s a whole other project!
I’ve been working on my Greek faction for Arena Rex.

And here’s a special miniature for @dignity Keep your clippers away!

And here are some more modest fellows for Mortal Gods.

A bit tired of playing catchup with my excessive collection of boardgame minis I decided to start on something that just arrived in the mail.

I won two boxes of Valiant Miniatures 20mm WW2 Germans from Wargames Illustrated giveaway. While I don’t have plans to start gaming in 20mm, I thought it would be fun to have a go at painting them, as they’re rather nice and detailed plastic models. And of course looking at Piers’ 20mm stuff here helped with inspiration.
Here’a the first half of the infantry:
