FireForge Games kicked off their campaign recently to bring a new range of 28mm scale Historical miniatures to their range. The Berbers and Camel Cavalry (Camelry!) are now available for you to snap up via Kickstarter.

The core of the campaign is aiming to bring you multi-part plastic kits for you to make your Camel Caravans and Camelry for your games, helpful for those playing their games as the Berbers, Tuaregs or others amongst the Arab Tribes of the desert.

The Camel Riders set (above) will give you two sprues of the plastic camels alongside two sprues of their Arab riders, meaning that you can make eight Camel Riders with a mixture of different poses and a number of weapon options like lances, swords and bows.

If you're looking to mix and match amongst your force, then the standard Arab Riders would also be a good shout. They drop their camels in favour of horses.

This will actually allow you to make twelve of these Arab Riders, armed once again with all sorts of different weaponry as you can see on the contents list above. I like that the riders are interchangeable between the different mounts, giving FireForge plenty of ways to craft these kits.

I think one of my favourite kits from the campaign might actually be the Caravan one. It comes with plenty of camels but also your caravan traders and their guards, hoping that they're not going to be ambushed by the enemy, be they bandits of marauding Crusaders.

This set comes with two sprues of the camels and two sprues of the Arab Merchants, giving you options for eight camels in different poses plus four merchants on foot and four mounted caravan leaders with their whips and lances. You can see some more of the examples from FireForge below.

You can also just get a set of camels on their own, which you can load up with even more goods as you're trekking across the desert. These are looking like very nifty sets for those wanting to add some colour and narrative focus to their games set during the Dark Ages and into the Medieval period. You could even get away with these fellows in much later periods as well.

All of these kits will fit in with the existing range of plastic miniatures from FireForge, meaning that you should have some good ways to kitbash and convert these if you wanted.

FireForge Games has also been doing these Kickstarter campaigns to bring plastic kits to life for a while now and has delivered on all of their previous crowdfunders. This should end up standing you in good stead if you were going to take part in the project.

What do you make of the Camelry?
