Old World Wanderings

So the best way to start an empire or undead army is to buy a dwarf. It particular a vintage thunderer musician, from the battle for skull pass starter set.

Close to where I live there is the amazing Mirfield Miniatures. Run by an old friend from when he used to run an art gallery, he buys and sells second hand models and trys to sell them as cheap as he can to develop a local community.

So whilst I was meeting my parents and a near by cafe and I used it as an excuse to call by. This was purely an impulse buy. I’ve always had a soft spot for Dwarves and this one had a instrument, so I though buy him to paint till I get chance to find the other main armies.

I don’t get chance to play that often now a days, and most of my immediate friends have started to play Bushido (I may do a project blog for that when I get my own models rather than borrowing others but I digress), but something else has caught my attention. 

When I’ve visited local FLGs I’ve noticed the amount of people playing Old World Battlemarch, and this has sparked a touch of the nostalgia (not that it needs much).

So I’ve decided to join them and update and titivate some old armies and just vibe with the setting again. Which forces to do though. Since the 90s I’ve played

Empire

Bretonia

High elves

Wood elves

Undead

But which to start with. I’m going to go with. Empire as they are what I think of when I think of Warhammer. 

But then it’s coming up to Halloween, and the rattle of bones, and voiceless screams call to me, so maybe the vampire count.
