Wow, there an ancient race, but still they look so like us…funny that the fashion in ancient times are the same across the universe…Is this really all they could come up with? We can just as easily use Vampires to represent necron lords.
And why do they need Lords for? Every other race has “command” couldn’t their command be just a huge datacenter or something like the monolith? Nice models but Boooring.
Yes.. the fasions thes same.. I have a war syth just like that! And I always make sure my cape is pressed and neatly folded after every outing 🙂 Cant wait
Instead of giving “him” staff weapons couldn’t they just attach a couple of extra arms with blades on them or something a little more “non human”.
Nah, give me back my “Genestealer Cult Hybrids” (please) instead of this Tomb kings in Spaaaaaace
ok now wheres that big monstrous creature!!!!
?
Are we sure it’s just not a forgotten Space marine chapter? Could be MK XXVVIII power armour!
Mk X (10) X (10) V (5) V (5) I (1) I (1) I (1) is Mk 33 armour, shurely shome mishtake? Would have been easier as XXXIII 😉
I would really, really like to hear what the BoW team honestly think about these models. Maybe it’s just me getting to old and been playing this game for to long but this didn’t do anything for me. It’s nice models, almost everything GW does is, but isn’t it just boring?
So far none of these new necrons have impressed me.
Looks like resurrection Orbs are still in, so will they still retain the WBB or will it confer some Necron variant FNP rule?
Is the Armour on these guys buffed up compared to the last batch. I really hated how that was done to the Terminator in Terminator 4.
Trazyn the infinite – getting him for the name alone 😛
I agree with everything tenntrollet said.
These models are the worst of the wave hands down. I keep coming back to the word “uninspired” when I look at them but we all know very well that they are, in fact, quite inspired. A little too inspired, I’d say.
This just goes to show how hard creativity is to come by in a corporate environment these days.
Also inb4 the generic “looks good cant wait” comments from the people who never really had a standard in the first place, as well as the typical “Stunning!” line from Warren.
Looks like my original lord, but a lot more expensive(resin). Nice scythe.
And go MK33 armor….or -MK33?
Personally.. I tihnk the models look really good so far. And remeber the lords that we see here probally wont be all of them.. Some are special charaters. There will proballyh be some that are more normal looking like the currents lords. Also the warriors are probally mostly unchanged. Probally the monoliths too.. alhotuhg a different a variant.. or slightly different weapons for different roles owuld be nice. Over all this “SNEAK PEAK” is wetting my apitite. Cant wait to see the rule book and more of the goodness that they have in store!! The metal tide rises ones more!!
Not sure on these.
Part of me thinks they are too ‘busy’ for the whole robot in space thing, but then reality is they are finecast generals that will cost £12 to £14 each, so they have to have all the detail and sculpting to justify it.
Not bad I like the new look rank and file troops and the obligatory big vehicles are interesting not sure on the new lords yet certainly not the same level of reimagining as the Dark Eldar had but will wait to pass judgement once I see the actual models.
They’re great models, which is to be expected, but… are they great “Necron” models? I have no idea why these Necrons are dressed to impress, and looking fabulous. Did the C-Tan consume Gok Wan? Why are these robots wearing jewelry! It grinds my gears!
Great models just to have and paint, but confusing models if you’re leading your Necron army on the table and you hear your opponent snigger under his breath.
Is it just me or does Trazyn The Infinite have a Tau symbol on his right leg?
It does. He saw it at Top Shop. Thought it would look great on him. And you know what? It does look great on him. He bought that Eldar icon at Gap as well.
NECRONS: LORDS OF GALACTIC FASHION
and an Eldar trinket. They look to be trophys to me 🙂
look awesome but named necron lords smell like new fluff and background and or redcon,
pls don’t make them officially able to speak PLEEEEAAASSEE
I loved the idea of an ancient evil race teleporting out of nowhere killing everything and be gone the minute someone realises what the fuck is happening and the silent treatment is just too awesome and creepy to drop it^^
the one with the blue chest looks like a necron verson of a space marine Librarian cos of the hood they where.
Is it just me or the poor picture, but does the Overlord on the left in the second picture look a lot beefier than the other Overlord?
On the models themselves. I like the extra “bling”, makes them certainly more interresting to paint. As for retconing the fluff, I say Necrons need more focused concept. Remains to be seen if the new codex swings this to right direction. But so far, I’m intrigued.
Again I’m liking the style but…Imotekh? Seriously? That’s just plain lazy. I’m surprised we don’t have a RAMeses, HALcyon or GIGApimp. Although if they released a character called Gigapimp I’d be the first to buy it, I’m their…Imotekh? Ward’s seen too many Mummy movies for my liking 😉
75% of the backstory to the Tomb Kings range is lifted straight out of those Mummy movies. Necrons are the sci-fi version of Tomb Kings (’cause they look like skeletons *sigh*) so … well go figure.
i love the egyptian style there going for and the little bit of character they have added
Ok so Terminator in a dress comes to mind but all in all these are not bad models. I like the feel of them and its good to see a res orb in hand.
I think I like the new vehicles best, (at least they are different!) everything else is just more of the same.
