If you look at some of the videos online you’ll see that you don’t have to use clips everywhere. I think price will be about £35 for the box and about £12 for the clips. And yes Darrell Malifaux is every bit as good as the terrain as long as you play with the schemes and strategies. Check out http://pullmyfinger.wikispaces.com/home for lots of helpful info. I would say Darrell would love a Gremlins crew with all the fun spells/abilities and swine based shenanigans.
lol, so Darrel wants to be “high”…. sorry :p
I really like the look of this I have used Fat Dragon Games stuff and World Works Games stuff and there great but they take way too much time to make. I mean I love ‘infinate’ terrian for my role playing game but the problem is that it’s just way to time consuming and often they collapse (that maybe on me) but the thing is so hard when you don’t have spare time.
So this is looking good.
terraclips will be released in 7 days according to their website (this post, 27/7/2011)
It looks great, it’s very affordable and the fact you can reuse it and make different stuff? no complaints here, I’ll definitly be getting stuff from this company if they do some sci-fi terrain – it’s genius! period! Looks like they have two other kits for Malifaux though (buildings and streets) : http://worldworksgames.com/store/index.php?view=catalog&cat_id=1&system_id=2
makes me wonder what could be made from combining all three boxes?
What can be made by combining all three sets? This! 😀

Really glad the WWG guys were finally about to make Terraclips a reality. I’ve had the Sewers and Buildings sets pre-ordered for some time now (and I’m considering getting the Streets set too even though I’ve blown 30 hours or more making a near identical set of TLX terrain from WWG – Himmelveil Streets).
Regarding the clips, the early prototypes featured clear clips but they found that they would always catch the light and be too shiny against the printed card.. so although the dark grey clips sometimes stand out, I’m willing to believe the guys over at WWG that it’s the better option!
Here’s hoping for a version of their Titan set in the Terraclips format..
Nice indeed – could do with some of this for Mordheim maybe.
that’s actually a really good creation darrel. the only thing about these sets you didnt utilize is the dynamic of how the layers can be separated to get into the rooms inside, and they fit snugly on top of eachother so when you jostle the table the whole set doesnt topple
Really like the texture and ease of use but im really hating those clips.
Good to see vaporware finally going gold, may have a closer look in store for these bad boys
I am SO hoping they release Terraclips Sci-Fi terrain for Infinity… Not just regular cardboard terrain. As it is, these can easily be used in plenty of games, though.
BoW Romain
I’m sure they will be investigating this.. they already have three great sci-fi sets (Titan, Titan Command and Streets of Titan) in TLX format now and they are ripe for conversion to Terraclips.. noto mention their back catalogue of pre TLX terrain, e.g. Firstlight and Mars Station
i can see this being used for Super Dungeon Explorer, cuz it is in what looks like 1in squares
Is there a UK supplier for WWG stuff?
thanks
Firestorm, Maelstrom and I think Wayland have the sets on preorder but they aren’t available over here yet
so are the only retail ones the Malifaux stuff, is the sci fi stuff for sale anywhere?
Not yet. The wall and tile textures seen in the Streets of Malifaux and Buildings of Malifaux Terraclips set are based on the TLX sets “Himmelveil Streets” and “Thoumonts” respectively. The Sewers of Malifaux is based on the “Himmelveil Sewers” TLX set, to a lesser extent.
TLX is WorldWordsGames other system for terrain building which takes a more traditional approach. You buy the files which contain the templates and textures, print them on to card, cut them out and stick them on some foam board. The textures are the same quality you see on the reviewed Terraclips set, but the difference is you have to make the stuff yourself.. but you can of course make as much of it as you like.
WWG have a sci-fi line in their TLX range, called Titan. Right now, since its from their TLX set, that means you’ve got to make it yourself using the textures you download.. but the possibility is obviously there for WWG to modify those textures and have them printed on punch out card and released as a Terraclips set and that’s what a lot of us are hoping for. I suspect the main thing right now would be for them to secure a partnership with, say, the Infinity guys but it’s also going to depend on how well the Malifaux Terraclips stuff sells.
Thanks for filling folks in siygess. One small correction though; Streets of Malifaux and Buildings of Malifaux are 100% original textures not derived from previous offerings in the WorldWorksGames catalogue. They were certainly inspired by previous creations but not directly taken from them. We made sure to put in the extra effort when producing the tangible products and I think once people get them home for a detailed study, that work will really shine through.
My bad, I didn’t mean to imply that they were copy and paste jobs 😉
Simply that there is a closer resemblance between those two sets than there is between Himmelveil Sewers and Sewers of Malifaux. But they’re all original work, of course!
I think your work is frigging awesome ! I can’t wait for more Terraclips in different environments, as it seems a lot more modular than just cardboard…
But take the time you need : We want your usual quality !
BoW Romain
if its not bases its fecking clips damn you darrell
looking at the website, the buildings of malifaux look absolutely amazing
I don’t think I’ve seen Darrel that excited about a product since BoW started!!
have to say i’m very impressed, I’ve always thought their self-print pdf terrain was a nice idea, but this new modular card stuff is super. Now if only they’d do some 1/32 stuff for Inquisitor…
Have been following the development of this for awhile and its great to see it finally making it to the marketplace. I have but one worry and if anybody knows please inform me. BoW Romain said he would love to see sci-fi stuff like this for Infinity as would I. The problem is all the promotional material and even on the box itself it says World works Games AND Malifaux. If Malifaux had any serious involvement in the development of this product then they might share in the rights and only allow the systems use for Malifaux based products. Not sure who owns the master design rights but if it gets tricky then we might only see this great system used for Malifaux and that would be a shame. Hope this is just the small start for a system with massive potential in the world of terrain and gaming!
Hey Spaderfish,
TerraClips has its roots in the work and development WorldWorksGames put into its modular TerrainlinX “Print, Build, Play!” terrain line. WorldWorksGames approached and ended up partnering with Wyrd Miniatures to bring TerraClips to market. It is a jointly owned property. TerraClips is a system that can be easily applied to other genres/properties and if the market supports the line we intend on expanding in a few directions. We’ve got nearly a decade of terrain products in tow and we can’t wait to see if some of that work will translate as we move forward.
Hope that helps!
They are going to have this at Gen Con next week and I will be getting some of the streets of Malifaux for sure. I don’t play Malifaux but I think it will work perfectly with Warmachine.
Looks really good, a lot sturdier than I imagined, was great to see that mini actually stand on the staircase no problem. Streets of Titan kit would be even more tempting for me. Question for any BoW crew that have access to the clips, what thickness of card will they take? Interested in getting a box for use with Dwarf Kings Hold, would those tiles fit without getting damaged?
If this is released in early august (as it says on the wesite, then why can none of the UK retailers stock it until october?
Looks solid.
The set would be nice for Mordheim (fighting Skaven in the sewers… who could ask for better?) or even 40K how’d them ‘gaunts get in the waste handling system of our ship? And why do we have stone passages in our ship, for that matter?)
The Auld Grump
It looks cool… I too want to make love to it! anything that makes terrain easy for 28mm wargaming rules!!
the buildings set would work great for Mercs! I ‘ve gotta get me hands on some of this stuff!!
