Hell yes
Loving this set…
love it, just need to find a menoth player that wants to go halves…..
Great unboxing video of awesome starter box.
Love your 3 legged Destroyer and 1 legged Juggernaut 😛
wow wow wow! When i got into warmachine, i made the mistake of purchasing the metal set (uglier models and Mk 1 cards). This unboxing has convinced me to get this to replace my menoth, and probably just keep the Khador as an introductory army for new players.
Kind of wish it was exemplar bastions rather than cinerators, but im guessing thats why they put them in, as no one really uses them!! Excellent unboxing Andy.
Awesome video, thank you. To be honest I think this was more exciting then Warpath! Look froward to the assembe video 🙂
Forgive my ignorance, not played Warmachine (hence looking at the starter set).
Is 20 points a lot to play with (as a life long GW fan, that’s not many marines)?
What sort of table size is best for Warmachine as 20 models over 6×4 is probably too much running….
Thanks
15 points is a starter size prob on a 2×2 table, most tourneys is about 35 points (2k in GW language)
IMO smaller games work better in Warmachine anyway. Most people I know don’t play more than 30 points.. That would be what you get in the box plus another heavy jack.
The standard battleboxes come in at 11pts. The point levels are 15, 25, 35, 50, 75, etc.
35pts would be roughly equivalent to a 1500 pt game in 40k, and a 50pt would be 2000pts. Shorter game time and smaller model count, but you get the general idea. Steamroller tournaments are generally run at 50 pts. and smaller ones at 35pts. As for what you will play, it will be up to your meta, my group plays 50pt most of the time.
The standard table size is 4’x4′. All games are played on this, I have even played 150 pts on it.
Ive been looking to try Warmachine so this couldn’t have come at a better time! Awesome sauce!
I think this is probably a bit too late as you have probably finished the vids, but is it possible for you to show us the corrections you had to make (like the hot waer reshaping)? I always get paranoid whenever I try it so it never turns out too well, so I would appreciate seeing it in the context of building these models.
Very nice looking set. I’d be interested in some informed commentary on the differences between the game play differences between the Mentoth start set and what you get here (other than Cinerators).
@quirkworthy Well only difference besides of having Cinerators is having Vanquisher (mixed arms heavy warjack) instead of Revenger (close combat light warjack with arc node). Me myself I’m actually very happy about this change becouse I was never big fan of Revenger and I rather take another heavy warjack instead.
Thanks mecha82. I quite like arc nodes myself, but you’ve got to look at the whole jack and a ‘node is useless if the lump of metal carting it about won’t survive.
This seems to be an all round good deal. Do the troops come with some variety in the pose they have?
There should be three unique models out of five. One is the leader and then 2 copies of 2.
I thought that the starter boxes from Privateer Press were good but this for me takes it to a new level. Totally loving this.
My only hope is that they release a Cygnar vs Cryx version as those are the two versions I am wanting to play in Warmachine.
My hope is that they do the same with Hordes in plastic.
what it ened the vid after the khador stuff was done
The minis look great. I’ve never played the game before but I’ve pre-ordered it and look forward to playing. My only complaint, for $100 they could have provided plastic templates at the very least instead of cutting it out of paper, cheap!
would be awesome if it had the Khador Gun Carriage Battle Engine and Protectorate of Menoth Vessel of Judgment Battle Engine
Did anybody get a ruler in their box? says it contains a ruler but mine didn’t. Also agree with gormoneye, they should have included plastic templates.
