He keeps says “his” but I was under the impression that ‘nids don’t have gender? Maybe he will be painting a female hormagaunt next?
So far as I know most ‘Nids are ungendered in the lore. Norn Queens, Dominatrixes, and Tervigons are female. I think Hive Tyrants are male, and I remember that in their unit entry it is mentioned that Hormagaunts can lay eggs beneath a world’s surface that rapidly gestate and hatch to help maintian their numbers, which makes them either female, functionaly hemaphroditic, or some more alien equivalent. Genestealers take a leaf out of the Xenomorph’s book when it comes to reproduction, corrupting their victim’s genetics to propagate intermediate hybrid stages between their own morphology and that of their victim that eventually ‘breeds true’ and creates more purestrain Genestealers (when the Hive Ships aren’t just using biomass to mass produce them like any other ‘Nids). That doesn’t really amount to a gender so much as reproductive parasitisation.
Most bugs just don’t have any use for generative organs. The Hive Ships create them, they scour the target world of resistence and render all its biomass for consumption, and then they simply throw themselves into the digestion pools and return to the Hive fleet as more raw biomass to be repurposed into whatever the Hive Fleet requires. That probably doesn’t leave much time over for dating…
Since they are basically insects? most of the soldiers will technically be female.
Of course there are female nids, who do you think sends them to work…
A very simple neat paint scheme that looks startling when finished.
as i said somewhere else…. this is NOT a good tutorial for beginners!
why?
it presumes an average steady hand wich you don’t usually posses if you are a newbie…
