Games Workshop Kick Off Grot Week For Warhammer 40,000 [Updated]
April 30, 2026 by brennon
Games Workshop have revealed another tiny miniature from the upcoming 11th Edition launch box for Warhammer 40,000. This is just the start of a reveal of a bunch of Grots, coming as part of the next edition boxed set.
Grot (Shooty) // Warhammer 40,000
Whilst this isn't the greatest reveal for Warhammer 40,000 and 11th Edition, it's a much-needed update to the existing Grots and Gretchin, who have been in service for a long time at this point. It's still a solid plastic set but you can tell that the Grots were in need of a more modern plastic set.
Grot (Sneaky) // Warhammer 40,000
Grot (Stabby) // Warhammer 40,000
Often overlooked by the Orks, the Grots might be cannon fodder but they are still fearsome creatures. The blasters can still pack a punch and when fired en masse, they could tear down a couple of guardsmen or perhaps a Space Marine if they're lucky.
Grot (Sticky) // Warhammer 40,000
The design of the Grots also works quite nicely with the classic Orks from the Oldhammer days. You've got a rather familiar-looking gun and that spiked helmet, which would be worse than a piece of Lego should you accidentally plant your boot there.
Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon Unboxing Trailer
More Gretchin are going to be revealed over the course of this week and on Friday, Games Workshop will fully unbox the contents of Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon.
Are you going to be picking up the Orks for 11th Edition?

I like these more than the orcs. Let’s hope they do a variety of those on sprue 🙂
If they’re doing 5 reveals I’m guessing the set will be 10 miniatures but 5 variants, which are then duplicated.
Your math is correct and even if I wished for more variants it’s still 500% more than 2nd edition 😉
all those grots were marching in formation. they had more discipline back then
“Disciplined…grots.” You smoking something? 😆
That’s a nice Grot.
Watched the video and thought , cool , Lloyd & Justin will be doing a live unboxing . Then I put on my glasses ….
The grots are ok, seems an odd choice of things to highlight or perhaps it says more about who they think their target market is currently
That says who finds two staff opening the companies product with inevitable terrible acting attempts at awe engaging. They could have designers going through the design and treating their customers as adults instead, but alas no
It sums up why I am going to have fun with older rulesets, and accept new 40k is not for me. Polished, corporate, superficial and souless
Polished and soulless I agree with when it comes to the new orks. I’ve said it before when they previewed the boys, but the grots continue with the “orks as serious” tone. Serious orks are scary I guess, but I’d rather have some of the whimsy and ridiculousness that the older models had.
Where did the grots ears go?
Excited to see how much this mirrors the 2nd ed set, then i can play any edition i like with them 😀
It’s the greenstuff crisis. They needed to cut corners and save material 😉
They actually addressed the thing about the ears over on Facebook with another angle of the miniature
My 78 year old grandmother (the only one I know with a FB account) let me use her account to look at it. 🤡
Just realised that latest grot (Thurs) is wielding a stikkbomb.
