With the model primed black I overpainted the armour in Vallejo gunmetal. Then I applied a heavy wash of an orange/brown mix and added splotches of different red/browns across the model to give it the start of a weathered rusty look.

I then drybrushed over this with Leadbelcher and then chainmail to bring back some of the metal surface.

I was debating how to add more definition between the armour panels, so while I thought on that I worked on the base.

Trying to make the car wing look tarnished and rusty.

Then back to the armour. I picked out some pipes in blue and green, joints in rubber black and painted the wheel valve (?) on the back in red. I decided to give it an all over wash of (of course…) Agrax. I also used thinned rubber black to paint in panel lines between armour plates etc to help the definition further.

Next up it was the head and further details. First I re drybrushed the armour, taking some of the final highlights up to Mithril Silver. I added an orange glow effect to the backpack, picked out some rope straps around the left arm, painted a panel in a worn red and painted the face and hair.

I went for blue on the hair as a pop of colour. The box art has pink, but I wanted to use pink on a different raider. I gave the raider a band of black facepaint.

The eyes looked a bit stark at first, but just at the end I attempted to add some pupils. Still not great, but from play distance it works ok.
