Dropfleet Commander Boot Camp – Sunday
As we move towards the final day of the Dropfleet Commander Boot Camp we're getting to check out some bigger games, some more in-depth tactical talk, and much more besides as we get these fleets ready for the tabletop once again thanks to Hawk Wargames.
Comment To Win Awesome Goodies This Weekend!
It's been an utter blast so far and it's been fun seeing how the Boot Campers have been getting stuck into their fleets and exploring the possibilities open to them. Of course big games go a long way towards making things epic too.

With a big joint game on the way and more to come we should be fit for an epic day!
Dropfleet Space Station Build Part 6 – Right In The Neck!?!
It's time for us to find out how things are developing as we move towards the point where a lot of the Space Stations are taking shape.
What do you think of the designs?
A Big Thank You To Nakchak!
Thanks from all of us at Beasts Of War to nakchak who has been doing sterling work keeping the website up and running throughout the Boot Camp.
Thanks matey, we appreciate it!

A morning of energy drinks awaits for Warren.
Been hitting refresh for a hour or two…. At last some news
Yes, just in time for me to turn in for the night unfortunately 😛 Hope everyone at the boot camp has an awesome day and the energy levels are holding up (and that goes double for everyone running around posting updates..).
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!
This Bootcamp has looked simply… mental.
It was a good one
Happy Sunday!!! Oh no… No Weekender XLBS….. Oh well, loads of Bootcamp content to keep us all busy with. 🙂
@duffguff couldnt agree more!
Battleships
and so it begins
‘ere wo go, again!
…and the space war resumes!
May there be many more updates! And many trashed ships…
Woot there back
Ok, I have had to go outside this morning, need something to distract me from that reality, so bootcamp, I am relying on you!
Good morning ladies, gentlemen and Minions. I am supposed to be working on many things but I am following this and laughing a lot – a great way to spend some time at a weekend
Here’s something continuing the theme from yesterday:

Energy drink breakfast. Umm my favorite
Late start? Must have been plenty of beers at the pub
Glad to see you guys enjoying yourselves keep up the good work
Can’t wait to see how the different factions play against each other (due to busy schedules our group has yet to get a game in ;_; )
Plugged in to watch Sundays action unfold
Happy Sunday!
time for the finale, it’s sure to be a blast.
You guys should really lay off the energy drinks. Looking forward to the linked dropfleet / dropzone game
Updates coming fast now… great stuff guys!
by the way can someone ask Dave when corvettes will be out? And next wave of models in general (models beyond the kickstarter)?
Guys,
I just want to tell you how much I enjoyed following this bootcamp, while building up my own Dropfleet ships. Looking forward to check out Sunday! Keep up the great work!
Good morning, coffee in hand and ready to watch some battleships to burn.
What a great weekend!
Monster for me
looks like this is the most successful bootcamp ever! until the next one?
Thx for showing this game.
The models look awesome, especially UCM ones =)
Great Contend! Keep it coming!
Cheers!
Sunday. I’ve got a massive cup of tea and a lot of highlights to do. Let’s do this!
happy sunday! im only just getting caught up with the weekend’s events and it’s been superb fun to watch. brilliant to see this escalating introduction to the game guided through by the Hawk guys.
It’s currently half 1 on sunday and the first orbital strike has just hit the dropzone table! very much looking forward to watching this unfold.. linked games are such a boss idea, havent been involved with enough players for years to attempt anything similar. def gonna have to try and get involved in a bootcamp in the coming year!
What is the minimum points to start with in this game?
@wararoz 1 starter box. Give a good game around 1500 points
@wararov even
Happy Bootcamp Sunday, Time to catch up with play!
Looking good.
Day 3 bring it on
I got my pre-ordered battleship ship and I love it and I love this game
Awesome weekend happening here!
Last day. Still waking up. Waiting on the tea. Time to see i there will be any big battles today.
Looking good, cant wait to see the paint schemes people come up with for this game! I suspect the scourge will have some particularly interesting paint jobs.

Looks like a busy weekend you guys having there.
I love the look of this game, so jealous of you lot being there, maybe one day!
It just keeps getting better.
I would like to prepare my fleet and play some games like the boot campers, but alas I am a Kickstarter Commodore level backer so I won’t get my rewards to sometime after Christmas and probably more like after New Year’s.
I love that linked game…will try to do that in my club too.
Wish I had the time and money for a boot camp….. maybe next year. So what do people thing to splitting 2 starter sets to get into the game? Is it a good idea …. I know it is for some games but others not so much!
As you can build any of the Cruiser or Frigats from the starter boxes – it is a great idea
Happy Sunday!
Great weekend to watch. I think I will have to visit a bootcamp again. I was there for the bolt action one and it was already absolutely awesome, but guys know how to improve even more.
I wish I could be there. I have really enjoy playing this game here in the US, but have had a bit of a lack of players to play against so far.
Where about in the US
Suffer not the Xenos to live!
Amazing stuff. I would love to get hold of this game, epic.
Wow – A Pikachu-based PHM fleet? “Pikachu battlecruiser, fast attack!!!” Pikachu battlecruiser: “Can’t, have to turn first to fire a broadside.” 😀
The minis are amazing. I’m looking forward getting my hands on them and making explosions in the space!
Time to catch up on all the goodness
This is awesome, been watching the last few days.
Seems like a pretty awesome event, bit jealous.
Would love to see a campaign incorporating dropfleet and dropzone
Love the amount of content, really love this game! But to be honest I do really hate the yello.
Nice thing about being on the other side of the ocean is I get to wake up have my coffee with a ton Dropfleet coverage already to watch and read.
Can not wait to the DFC and DZC game. Oh, and a bit excited about the prizes.
Good morning from the West Coast of the states! Enjoy the day!
You guys are awesome.
Just wow! I’m still catching up with Saturday stuff…
this game looks great
That looks like so much fun.
Really need to go to the next bootcamp they are having
Looks like an awesome weekend!
Awesome. Straight jealous
I think I have failed my save and will have to get Dropfleet Commander. Thank you and damn you in equal parts BoW!
This has been such an enjoyable weekender. Walking dead was the first one I’ve ever followed but this has been so much better.
Dave has been fantastic and has so much enthusiasm for the game. Poor bloke has talked his butt off this weekend.
His voice was worn already Saturday night. .. Hard to be the boss
good stuff guys, looking forward to all the other games you guys have planned!
I think I have failed my save and will have to get Dropfleet Commander. Thank you and curse you in equal parts BoW!
Thank you BoW, Hawk, the sponsors and especially the boot campers for providing gaming entertainment.
What these sessions provide is energising the industry and encouraging new gamers into different genres. I have never thought of playing space ship games but now I have ordered a mat and a starter set!
Thanks again ( although your not favourite with the wife!)
Happy Christmas
Happy Xmass to you too. And enjoy
Would so like to have done this weekender am really looking forward to picking this up in the new year
Looks cool!
Awesome weekend again guys, got a bit of t a catch up to do with this afternoons vids but really impressed.
Id love to get on one of your bootcamps in the future they look like great fun.
Keep up the good work!!
I’ve been wondering what the fleet game was like.
Next Weekender could you cover the stats on how this boot camp stacks up compared to other ones in terms of updates and comments. It seems like this one really took off.
Where was lloyd during all this?
Busy in the background. Someone has to run the show while the rest are out playing 😉
What a day. That was a brilliant weekend, thanks all involved for making it happen
Great bootcamp everyone.
I’d like to thank the team for amazing coverage of what looked to be an exciting and enjoyable weekend. Thanks.
Damn those scourge look awesome.
That linked Dropzone + Dropfleet scenario is great. It would be great to see a tournament built around that concept.
gutted I wasnt part of this weekend
Total brilliant combination – Hawk wargames and Beasts of War . Best boot camp, best game
Nice coverage guys, fun fun fun 🙂
The work you guys put in is unmatched anywhere else online. Congrats and thanks for a great weekend of entertainment.
Housework done! Feet up……SPACESHIPS!!!!
Gonna order some battleships soon
Awesome bootcamp! Just love the whole envoiroment that goes on in these kind of setttings!
So long and thanks for all the fish.
Did the space station / Fleet get named?
Looks nice.
That space station is so massive… I love the video’s ,the energy for the game and this has made me want to play this game even more. I look forward to more Dropfleet and Dropzone in the future. The transition from space to planet battles is amazing.
I see you’re now in excess of 6000 comments over the weekend. Blimey!
Amazing game! Looks like a ton of fun this weekend. Hope I win something as bad as I hope you grow some hair back.
The space station is crazy!
I know what’s going to empty my wallet next weekend… which fleet to choose? :o:o
Very nice looking game and some great scenery too which always makes playing games more fun
Great weekend guys, hoping to convince the wife to let me fly across the pond for one of these in the future.
Still kicking myself for not joining in on the Kickstarter.
Sweet as!
What a great looking weekend. Watch two friend playing for a bit on Friday night, when I may get into this game.
great game, really need to pick up a few space station packs i think now.
Once again, John comes up with an awesome paint job!
This game looks incredible!
The weekend was great! Fantastic game!
Some great stuff here to take in!
Certainly getting me in the mood to paint up all my fleets!
After the errata, this game will be really tight.
Awesome to see more Hawk Wargames products, keep up the great work!
Looks like an amazing weekend! Great paint jobs and space station builds too.
Space stations look fantastic and so many options I imagine they could easily fit in with Star Wars Armada too.
This was really awesome, guys. If some one asks what the space Station is compensating for, the answer is “weak allies” XD
I wonder if my eyes are still good enough to paint all the details in the Dropfleet models incredible.
They almost paint them self 🙂
They are very well defined
I really like this game. It has so many levels to take into consideration .
Happy Sunday/ Bootcamp! Can’t qaut to play this now! Glad Tim was there to save the day again 😉
SOOOOO much fun. Looks like a blast.
Great looking fleets.
Amazing content guys! Thanks for sharing all this with us. We can’t wait to assemble and play some Dropfleet ourselves
Awesome looking stuff.
Just got back from Steel Panther, now its time to witness the epic third day.
Great stuff!
Two wishes. Could have been there and backed this Kickstarter.
Dropfleet looks like even more fun then I thought it’d be! I would have backed the kickstarter if I hadn’t spent all my money building my army for dropzone. Lol. Maybe once my wallet recovers from the holidays I can get me some sweet dropfleet.
As I enjoyed Drop zone commander, I would love to get some drop fleet scourge to go with my drop zone scourge
10/10 couldn’t think of a better way to spend an awesome weekend.
A lot of stuff, not even have a time to watch all, thx for good work.
can’t wait to get my hands on these!^^
Great work to all. cant wait for the next boot camp.
Many thanks to all of the Beasts of War team, Nakchak, Dave & all the Bootcamp Participants for making this a very enjoyable event to follow.
Wouldn’t be surprised if there is some sort of global campaign that decides now Phase III (still a long way to the end) turns out.
Otherwise a pretty decent way to spend a weekend.
Really enjoyed my first bootcamp and hopefully not my last 🙂 Big shout out to the BoW team, Hawk War-games and all the other attendees that made this such an enjoyable event for me.
Great meeting you mate. Karaoke was a highlight 😉
Yes. The Bridge was a bit of the Bust. Good meeting you
The future Mrs. JamJarST can belt out a tune 😮
I have to admit, that space station is neat!
uff i still want more!!!! what happens to the pikachu strike force? can bootcampers share their finished ships?^^
this weekend was too short =\ so much stuff going on and it’s only 50 hours.
do you plan another bootcamp before the new year or right after NY?
The weekend was too short for those of us that was there as well. I can say with a 100% certainty that we was on the last 2016 bootcamp. Now the team need some very much deserved R&R
Glad to see it was a fun weekend!
Congratulations to the Beasts of War team for another successful bootcamp! 😀
Man, now this one bootcamp I wish I had gone to … if for no other reason than all the people who where there. @rasmus , @commodorerob , @buggeroff . . .
@suetoniuspaullinus , @benc , his wife Karen , and of course all the BoW Team . . .
I was with you all in spirit, sadly playing FTL on the PC and knocking around the house with other starship-related gaming hobby. 😀
FTL is pretty damn great! =) discovered Space Rogue this year also and like it better
You were missed Him. You would have had a blast
@oriskany we will have to cordinate going to one of the 2017 ones
Amazing stuff… gotta hunt down some space stations!
Love all the photos. Even with the rushed paint jobs, the fleets look awesome. I guess my idea to paint my UCM in a Rick Hunter/Hikaru Ichijyo red-and-white wasn’t so unique after all! Looks slick.
i had a blast watching the boot camp from the other side of the pond. Keep up the good work
I am so excited. Dropfleet is my first miniatures game (apart from a few x-wing models a couple of years ago) and I’ve been having an awesome time building my fleets.
Welcome to the hobby
This has gotten me really excited for my kickstarter stuff that should be here today.
Nice coverage of what seems like a really fun weekend!
Fantastic weekend, thank you to the Beasts of War team and the guys from Hawk for sharing such a fantastic game and event
With no posts, I can only guess that you guys are proper knackered!
Having prior commitments on Saturday I watch all the weekend a day late. What a brilliant set of videos. I’m now looking forward to playing my first game with my Shaltari. Baxic set are complete qnd painted. I’ve just got my first expansion ( aseond basic box of Shaltari ). What should I make? What
It was a good weekend… Now to face Monday…
glad to see you are having some fun
What a ride.
Loved this Bootcamp. I will make one of these one day!
It Tuesday and I am only half way through.
Good show lads!
That goodbye from the weekenders is saved as “whatthehobyisabout.jpg” on my computer, I know a bit sappy but it’s true! Cheers.
Great stuff guys. This is a game I have been really considering since its kickstarter. I definitely looks good.
I envy people at these boot camps. Nonetheless, happy bargaining everyone.
@$&# damned autocorrect… it’s happy wargmaming.
As usual it was a lot of fun to watch. Glad you can do this for the community.
