Bad nights sleep = earlier XLBS
And we completely missed the Jodorowsky version of Dune that would get even trippier. How about we just throw that idea at some Euro style comic artists for interior art and have it be built up as a print under the license of Mörk Börg. The publishers of Heavy Metal could edit the book. A special edition foil embossed cover done by Simon Bisley in limited run.
I’d buy that for sure.
It’s already been done, sort of. Jodorowsky’s Metabarons comics contain a lot of the ideas he was going to use in Dune. And West End Games even did a Metabarons RPG back in 2001, but it’s a little hard to find now.
Oh Jodorowsky did such nice comics. As did Moebius.
Happy Sunday. Pretty sure I’ve got the Avalon Hill Dune game kicking around somewhere..
Well this should be a short video as the answer before watching will be Moonstone and Burtows & Badgers…..😂 😂 😂
That Witch racing game sounds a bit like Formula D with the mechanics
Happy Sunday!
@avernos I think the Dune (Lynch) version had been done a few years past as a hobby project. I do remember a table at Hamburger Tactica with the flyers from that movie.
Interesting hearing your experiences of Salute. I had a good day there. Very busy as we come to expect but I thought there was plenty there in terms of shopping, new stuff on view and interesting games to see. I hadn’t been in ages (maybe the first time it was at Excel, I used to go most years when it was in West London). I didn’t notice it was different to usual in terms of balance of historical/fantasy/sci-fi. There were several dice retailers which wasn’t a thing the last time I was there but I know they are popular so don’t see why they shouldn’t be there too.
In terms of display game to put on, I’m with Gerry, go with something really massive. Salute is one of the few spaces where you can have meters of table without it looking out of place.
Ancients look great so Plataea is a good call or something tactically interesting like Leuctra or Ilipa would create a visual talking point, rather than just having two sides line up parallel to each other across an empty plain.
Happy Sunday, good show, and you all did great work on the Salute coverage
I quite like the Alec Newman Dune Series and sequel with James McAvoy as covers upto book 3 of the original series. Had some very good actors but budget for effects and sets was a bit hit and miss, worth a watch if your a fan, and especially if going to be hobbling away with some Desert based project.
Yay XLBS time’s
Phezing thieves 🤔😠
