Does anyone know what’s happening at Steamforged Games?

I backed Bardsung: Tale of the Forsaken Glade, which was originally estimated for delivery around April 2026, but there still seems to be no meaningful production or delivery timeline.

Looking into SFG more generally has raised some worrying questions. Both Steamforged Games Ltd and its parent company, Steamforged Holdings Ltd, currently have overdue accounts at Companies House and, on 1 September, both received First Gazette notices for compulsory strike-off.

This follows significant redundancies earlier this year and SFG announcing that it was moving resources away from board-game crowdfunding to focus more heavily on Warmachine.

There also seems to be a growing customer-service problem. Steamforged’s EU store currently has a 1.5/5 Trustpilot rating, with 86% of its reviews being one-star. Several very recent reviews specifically complain about unanswered messages and refund requests, including people claiming to have been waiting weeks or even months for responses. Similar complaints are appearing in the comments on outstanding crowdfunding campaigns.

I haven’t found any evidence that SFG has entered administration or liquidation, and a compulsory strike-off notice does not in itself mean that a company is insolvent. But taken together — overdue accounts, strike-off notices against both companies, redundancies, the move away from crowdfunding, outstanding campaigns, poor communication and apparently unanswered refund requests — it does look increasingly concerning.

Does anyone here have any reliable information about what is actually happening at SFG? In particular, does anyone know whether their outstanding crowdfunded projects are currently being manufactured and whether anyone requesting refunds is actually receiving them?
