Well the Dentist went ok. I survived!
Tuesday and weather is looking like a preview of summer, although that will turn next week to rain. Boo…
Well the Dentist went ok. I survived!
Huzzah!
Wednesday my dudes. Back to coffee!
When was the last time you got more than you bargained for in a hobby deal?
Just recently actually. Monolith had their Solomon Kane RPG Vault on clearance for 30% off. This is a box of just the miniatures from their Solomon Kane board game, repackaged to sell with their reprint of the Savage Worlds Kane RPG. Somehow I misread the description and thought it included around 40 miniatures, but in reality it was over 100!
Even better, it shipped from a local (US) shipping hub so I didn’t have to wait for international shipping or pay a tariff. It arrived about 4 days after I ordered it.
Do I really need 100 more miniatures to paint? Well, “need” is a strong word… They are great looking figures, and I’m sure I’ll find a use for them somewhere…
That does look like a good deal @jeffersonpowers, but I don’t really need any more fantasy minis at the moment. If Batman, or Mythic Battles, or Reichbusters had been 30% off then maybe
@pagan8th yeah, I’m sure they had it on sale because they have no plans to continue the line. I already had the original edition of the Solomon Kane RPG so these will be useful if my group ever wants to get back to that. We are planning on playing Free League’s Vaesen soon, so I was thinking these might be useable for that as well.
But honestly I just always have a good time painting Monolith’s models, they’re always top notch.
So it seems my shiny syndrome has been at the wheel again and I appear to have decided to start a Ratkin army for K0W 4th Edition! I know, nobody is more surprised than I 😀 Don’t you play a mass battle fantasy game already I hear (some of ) you cry. Yes, I play Midgard and really like it. It isn’t a competitive play game and I quite fancy trying my hand at something that is a different type of challenge.
It started because I can’t resist a bargain. I looked last year a couple of times as sellers sold off the remaining 3e stock but nothing seemed to grab my attention. Then Goblin Games had a couple of big Ratkin bits in their clearance sale at 50% off. I took a look on eBay and someone was selling a Ratkin Mega Army at 50% off. Well that was it. So apparently I’m now going to play KoW 🙂 Rule book should be here this afternoon too.
At least I know the trigger point for my shiny syndrome – Rank and Flank Fantasy at 50% off!
“I’m like a methhead, but for miniature gaming – JUST ONE MORE FIX!”
