Victrix Miniatures had a few previews pop up over the last week or so. As well as some new sneak peeks at upcoming plastics, they also had news of their upcoming Pillage Introductory Set that is going to be one of their biggest Historical projects yet.

Carolingians - Victrix Miniatures

Carolingians // Victrix Miniatures

The first bit of news was for the Carolingian Unarmoured Infantry. These are some of the early miniatures from the test sprues, showcasing the sorts of options that you're going to be getting inside the set when it finally lands. As you can see, there's a good mix of weapon options in here from spears through to various hand weapons. You've also got some great, dynamic poses and plenty of heads, perfect for personalised and individualised skirmishing warbands.

I like the distinctly Carolingian touches as well, from the unique shield designs through to the look of their dress and the helmets. It should make for a very fun warband/army to paint on the tabletop.

Victrix has also mentioned that Armoured Infantry will be following on behind these alongside Heavy and Light Cavalry options. You're going to be able to build quite the Carolingian force!

Pillage Introductory Set

As well as the Carolingians, we also got the news of the Pillage Introductory Set, which has been in the works for a while.

Introductory Set - Pillage

Introductory Set // Pillage

A full breakdown of what's going to be in the set will be coming later this week but as you might have guessed, we're going to be seeing the Anglo-Saxons battling against the Vikings as part of this Dark Age/Early Middle Ages skirmish game.

As well as the miniatures for both sides, you'll also have multiple brand-new plastic scenery sets, apparently, if the comments from Victrix are anything to go by. We'll make sure to drop some more information here as and when the Introductory Set information comes out from Victrix.

Pillage hasn't been a hard game to get into with options to buy the rulebook and some great warband sets. However, an Introductory Set is always a good "one-stop-shop" for someone who doesn't want to mess around. I am eager to see what's inside!

Victrix also teased that they have more rulebooks in development that take the game into new Historical periods!

Are you going to be picking up that Introductory Set when it lands?
