Sneak About With Star Wars: Legion’s Guerilla Troopers & More

Atomic Mass Games are dropping loads of new sets for those diving back into Star Wars: Legion at the moment. You can get some excellent new Sci-Fi miniatures and plenty of repackaged sets for those upgrading to the new version of the game.

Guerilla Troopers // Star Wars: Legion

My favourite of the new sets is the one we're going to lead with in the form of the Guerilla Troopers for your Rebels! This set comes with a band of Guerilla Troopers who work in the shadows and behind enemy lines to subvert the plans of the Empire. They often get their hands on Imperial weapons and fear and use this to further the cause of the Rebellion.

This set introduces a set of infiltration specialists who can strike from anywhere and then vanish before you can get a bead on them. You get seven Guerilla Troopers, which is enough to run a Special Forces Unit in your games of Star Wars: Legion.

They can be armed with regular blasters, or you can break out the heavy weaponry and either send infantry scattering or blow holes in armoured transports. As Gerry pointed out, one of them even seems to be the famous Chip Hazard from Small Soldiers. It's good that he's finding extra work.

I really like this set and I think it would also work really well as a bedraggled Stormtrooper unit that has perhaps got lost after a Rebel attack. Take the aliens out of the set when it comes to heads and you could run a cool band of veteran "bad guys" who are eager to get some payback against the Rebellion.

Criminal Foot Soldiers!

The second set of infantry covers the Pyke Syndicate and their Foot Soldiers.

If you're exploring the role of the Shadow Collective in games of Star Wars: Legion, then this is perfect. The Pyke Syndicate control the various spice routes in the galaxy and has a foothold in all manner of different territories. When you need to deal out some justice against a rival gang or perhaps even the Empire for encroaching on your territory, these fellows are called in.

This set comes with eight miniatures for the Pyke Syndicate covering your Foot Soldiers and Pyke Capo. They can bring some cool weapons to bear, including the electro-whip and the P13-M disruptor. A great set for those wanting to play the criminal elements of the Star Wars universe and a nice set for someone wanting Star Wars villains for a different skirmish game that you've themed, perhaps!

High Speed Options

If you're looking for some speed, then how about the new Swoop Bike Riders?

Swoop Bike Riders // Star Wars: Legion

Perfect for mercenaries, smugglers and syndicates. Swoop Bike Riders power across the landscape with very little regard for their own personal safety. If you're looking for speedy options in your army, then these mercenaries could be great options for you to use.

You get enough to make two Swoop Bike Riders in this set, which can be used to unleash chaos on the battlefield. It doesn't state that there are different head options in the set but it would be nice if it included the one from the artwork, as I think that looks great. You could always dip into your bitz box and pick out a few more options to suit your collection.

Maybe head back to the Clone Wars and introduce the Raddaugh Gnasp Fluttercraft to your Galactic Republic armies.

You might remember seeing these in the prequel films. The Wookiees can use these for hit-and-run attacks from on high, annoying the Separatists no end! This set comes with just one of the Fluttercraft, which can be used to give you some aggressive force projection on the battlefield, harassing key objectives and enemy units rushing towards them.

It feels like there's loads more from Atomic Mass Games for those wanting to run a very Wookiee-heavy army in Star Wars: Legion, which is no bad thing. I like the idea of focusing on the battle for Kashyyyk and a small contingent of Clone Troopers helping a larger force of Wookiees hold off oncoming droids.

Talking of droids, we have another vehicle for them as well in the form of the NR-N99 Persuader Droid.

Be persuaded or run over. You don't get many more choices than that. This offers another option for heavy firepower for those running the Separatists in games of Star Wars: Legion. It is an overwhelming force that will blast you away and send both infantry and lighter vehicles scattering.

This set comes with one of these miniatures alongside all of the bits and bobs you need to play with it on the tabletop. I like that it also comes with the option for B1 Battle Droid passengers. A nice touch!
