Well this week’s pledge is to do more shopping. The stuff I ordered last week still hasn’t arrived, so I think  this afternoon I may walk to my local hobby shop and show them some support.

Shopping? On a Sunday? Weird concept.

@sundancer in the UK almost all shops are open on a Sunday. Their hours might be reduced a bit, but they’re open.

Only venues open on Sundays in Germany include (but not limited to)

• Cafes
• Gas stations
• Restaurants
• Pubs
• Cinemas

Most other shops are closed on Sundays. Makes the weekends usually very relaxed 😉

Well here capitalism over-rides any desire for weekends to be relaxing.

 

Just got to the main topic of this week’s XLBS. On Friday I pulled a muscle by sneezing. Taking deep breaths became agony. I also couldn’t roll over in bed or reach down to the floor to pick anything up. Sneezing. Thankfully after two days it’s now just a dull ache when I do those things.

Let’s see. I hurt myself sitting on the bed and pulling up a sock on my feet. I pulled a muscle trying to grab something from the top shelf and my favourite: sudden cramps in lower legs and my feet in the middle of the night XD But that’s all not hoppy related XD

Over here it’s only city centres where shops are open on Sunday, except for a few big name grocery shops … which means I don’t have to stress to get food on a Saturday.

And that’s good, ’cause I was stuck in a spaceship exploring strange new worlds and killing robots all day for some reason.

@sundancer in Canada they opened Sunday shopping when I was youngish. Last I was in Frankfurt, I had good long layover; was going to into town to wander around, and they told me nothing was open 🤣

I honestly miss Sundays being closed.

Even my former employer royal mail works on sundays now, only tracked 24, but they deliver. Amazon has done for years.

A lot of places open bank holiday’s now. I think this year the only days supermarkets were closed was xmas day and easter sunday.

After a weekend playing six games of Kings of War across two days I can report that I’m not too old to play.

After a 4 hour drive home on the Sunday I am too old to be useful for anything today.  My friend came round to play Saga with me.  We were testing out the updated boards for Vikings and Normans and I was only up to losing.  So it turns out that I’m too old to play on three consecutive days 😀

@zoidpinhead but are you too old to do a part 7 of your adventures in Kings of War ?
Or will there be another game system now that you’ve completed a guide, army and tournament for that game?
