Adventure In Five Parsecs From Home With New Modiphius Miniatures
September 28, 2026 by brennon
Modiphius has started taking pre-orders for a whole bunch of new 32mm scale miniatures for those wanting to dive into the Sci-Fi wargame, Five Parsecs From Home! These came as something of a surprise but you've got crew and way more to snap up!
Five Parsecs From Home - Miniatures // Modiphius
We shall kick off with the Crew, as they are going to be the core of any Five Parsecs From Home campaign that you might be playing. There are seven resin miniatures in the set that cover Humans, Aliens and Robots, armed with a variety of weapons and armour.

I can sense that these might actually end up being the basis for all sorts of conversions when people break out the bitz box. The miniatures in the set are Hardship, Heavy, Longtooth, Ol' Cappy, Shade, Skipper and then the Soulless, who is a very cool nod to Mass Effect. Want to bring one of the enemy on to yours side to fight against their own kind?
I think this is a really characterful band of miniatures and you could easily make them look very different and suited to your campaigns if you gave them different paint jobs. The crew that you don't use then become NPCs!
The second set of minaitures are for the Security forces of your Sci-Fi world.
Security Miniatures // Five Parsecs From Home
Security comes in many forms. Sometimes these fellows will be on your side, helping you battle against some alien menace. Other times, they are going to be hunting you down through the streets of a far-off city because you stole something that you shouldn't. I think you could easily make these miniatures look "good" or "bad" with a simple change of paint schemes! Add some black in and you've got some seriously evil mercenaries!
The set comes with three Troopers with Rifles, two with Lasers, one Officer with a Laser, one Trooper with an Auto Rifle and then a final one with a Hand Flamer. A solid mixture of weapons and poses in there for your generic Sci-Fi mooks.
Last but not least, we have the Soulless.
Soulless Miniatures // Five Parsecs From Home
The Soulless are deployed by the hive intelligence network to carry out its missions. They are an inhuman threat that is entirely unreadable and cold in their actions. They will leave no survivors and even if you do manage to kill one, there will be little trace of their coming should you try to investigate. Very Mass Effect.
The set comes with three Soulless Troopers with Lasers, three with Blast Rifles, one Lieutenant with Hand Laser and Blade and then a Specialist with either a Plasma Rifle or Marksman Rifle. I think these might be my favourite miniatures from the lot.
If you like all of these miniatures, they are also available as part of a bundle from the folks at Modiphius.
What do you think of the new miniatures?

The Soulless look like a cross between Necrons and K-2SO. Other than that, not bad.
Nailed it.
I was going to say the Geth from Mass Effect and the Purge from Core Space
Ouch! The modiphius bundle is £122 for the 24 minatures. No thanks.
I think the price is driven by what they’re aimed at. It’s a game with a very low miniatures requirement – much like Infinity. Consequently the price per miniature is always much higher. And £122 for 24 miniatures is still cheaper than Infinity and Warcrow. So if you’re used to buying “armies” these are understandably going to seem expensive
I just want the wolf man. It looks like Kill Wolfhead from the Incal.
I really like the security agents, although the Flamer looks a bit “40k”
The page says they are 32mm. So does that mean they will be a head taller than my imperial guard?
I have no idea what game this is but… Nice 😁
Five Parsecs is a “solo friendly” wargame, a with a similar scope to Stargrave. What sets it apart however it has tables for generating just about EVERYTHING you could think off for a game (from Names to World Building etc). It’s got a few fellow books in the stable including…..
Compendium (further rules/tables and a quite nice “Bughunt” campaign system. Think Aliens and that should give you the idea here).
Tactics – A scaling up of the game to about a platoon per side (possibly further). Adds Tanks, Airstrike etc.
Planetfall – a bit of a twist to the usual fare. No Spaceships (as with the base game) rather scope for making a game based around running a small trade station/colony on the surface. Anything from asteroids with zero/low G and no atmosphere to more planet based bases with a biome from earthlike to various toxic atmospheres.
They also have a fantasy version “Five Leagues” if that’s more your thing.
Basically they form a great rules resource where you can play straight from the books or “steal” parts and useful tables to fill out perhaps what’s missing from your favourite rules systems. Basically narrative style game (combat is a bit basic, but then you could perhaps steal your favourite combat mechanics to add to this game as well if you find it too simple.
Originally it was a aimed towards a miniature agnostic system, but it does have rules for an ingame universe (the miniatures here are based on the ingame races.classes etc.
Personally I’ve used it with my collection of Core Space/First Born minis and terrain if I feel like broadening out the gameplay a little more (Five Parsecs has got a fair few RPG elements to it). I’ve used the same minis and terrain with Stargrave as well. Probably best to think of it as “Stargrave Plus” a first.
Books are a little expensive, but are well laid out and readable (something I never thought about until I bought the Necromunda N19 and N23 rulebooks). Alas the Morpheus webstore does a pretty poor job at informing you about the game, so I would recommend going to Youtube and watching some reviews to get a better idea. Here’s one From Peachy 🙂
