April 22, 2026 by brennon
Warcradle Studios has revealed what's new for Dystopian Wars and coming out in June! The Alliance take the spotlight as they get themselves a brand-new Starter Set that will give you a great way to get stuck into playing this naval wargame set in the Dystopian Age.
Alliance Starter Set // Dystopian Wars
This set comes with some excellent new plastic miniatures, like the Concordat Command Cruiser, the Chevalier Cruisers or the heavier and deadlier Charlemagne. You also get access to ships like the Bretteur Destroyers, which can take on larger enemy ships than you'd imagine.
Alliance Starter Set - Contents // Dystopian Wars
The full contents of the Alliance Starter Set are as follows, giving you a look at some of the different options that you can use for tweaking the fleet to match your own playstyle and that of your enemy.
- 3x Ecuyere Frigates (may also be built as Bretteur Destroyers)
- 3x Chevalier Cruisers (may also be built as Charlemagne Heavy Cruisers, Loire Light Cruisers, Picardy Monitors, or Concordat Command Cruisers)
- 6x Escort Tokens
- 5x SRS Tokens
The set also comes with everything that you need to get started playing Dystopian Wars, making it a great jumping-off point for someone who is joining an existing group of Dystopian Wars players.
- 1x Rulebook
- 1x Victory & Valour Card Deck
- 20x Action Dice
- 6x Critical Damage Dice
- 1x Dystopian Age Token Punchboard

If you're interested in learning how to paint the ships from the Alliance, John did a great painting tutorial during our Dystopian Wars Week.

Use this to paint up the unique Alliance ships in your fleet and get them to the tabletop nice and quickly, whilst also looking stunning at the same time.
Sultanate Reinforcements
As well as the new Alliance Starter Set, you can also get your hands on the Sultantate Frontline Squadrons in June.
Sultanate Frontline Squadrons // Dystopian Wars
This set introduces some more options for those who have already built out their Sultantate Fleet from the Starter Set and want some more options. For example, the two Cruisers can be combined to make a twin-hulled Ikili Cruiser, either the Bayzelid Grand Cruiser or the Mehemed Command Cruiser. You also have the likes of the Temir Frigates, attachable to larger vessels or formed into a unit of their own.

If you're interested in getting your hands on this set, you can see the full breakdown of the contents below alongside some of the alternative build options.
- 2x Iskandar Cruisers (may also be built as Izmir Monitors, Pasha Fast Cruisers, or Sadrazam Heavy Cruisers. Alternatively, a single Bayezid Grand Cruiser or Mehmed Command Cruiser can be built, along with a single model from the previous list)
- 2x Temir Frigates (may also be built as Celik Destroyers).
- 2x Portal Markers.
The Sultanate, much like the Alliance, are a faction that feels like they'd be really fun to paint. You can ditch the battleship grey and go for something a lot more vibrant, showcasing the way that the Dystopian Age sets itself apart from our own Historical timeline.
Are you going to be picking up these sets?
