Atomic Mass Set Out The X-Men & Avenger Roadmap For Crisis Protocol
June 5, 2026 by brennon
Atomic Mass Games has been dropping more details, teasers, and previews about what's coming for Marvel: Crisis Protocol and the new game, Alliances. We know that Night of the Goblin is coming soon but we also got a peek ahead at what's happening with the X-Men and the Avengers.
X-Men // Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances
The first of the nice previews was for the new miniatures that you'll be getting when it comes to Attack of the Sentinels for the X-Men. We knew that Wolverine was coming (in a super cool pose) but you also get Cyclops, Gambit and Rogue. I had assumed we would get Beast and Storm alongside the boys in yellow and blue but it's a welcome change to get the duo that is Rogue and Gambit.
The miniatures that you see here throughout these pieces also showcase the new F.A.S.T miniatures from Atomic Mass Games, designed to be quick and easy to assemble (push-fit). This suits the design of Alliances as a miniatures board game rather than a full hobby game.
As well as the X-Men, we got a look at the foes they will be facing in the form of the Sentinels themselves!
Sentinels // Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances
A classic match-up for the X-Men and one that I know will excite a lot of folks. The miniatures for the different Alliance boxed sets come in coloured plastic, meaning that you can just start playing once you've assembled the figure. However, that won't stop folks from diving in and painting them up. I'd love to see some alternative schemes for the various X-Men based on costumes from throughout the years.
The Avengers!
As well as the X-Men, the next step for Alliances will be to introduce the Avengers into the game range.
Avengers // Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances
The foursome of Avengers will come as part of The Once and Future Kang box for Alliances. The set comes with the mighty Captain America alongside Iron Man, Hawkeye and finally Black Widow. A classic set of heroes for taking on all sorts of different threats.
I really like the poses of all of the miniatures from the Alliance range so far. They are a little "simple" in their posing but that's no bad thing. I think they all look suitably heroic and won't be an absolute pain in the ass to glue together.
This set also comes with various Kangs from across the multiverse and throughout time.
Kang // Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances
Whilst Kang might have been purged from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he lives on in Crisis Protocol Alliance. It will be fun to see what extra game mechanics get introduced with both of these expansions to Alliances, which draw you deeper into the story that the game is trying to tell.
Roadmap // Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances
It should be pointed out that all of the heroes and some of the villains can be mixed and matched across the various games, allowing you to do what Crisis Protocol does on the tabletop; creating your own stories based on cool What If? moments.
Additionally, all of the miniatures that you've seen here are on the right bases and can be used as alternative miniatures with the rest of the Marvel: Crisis Protocol range. So, you can play Alliances and then go on to play the big miniatures game afterwards!
What do you think of this roadmap?
