Siege An Old Fortress As Part Of Kromlech’s Fantasy Range

Kromlech has revealed a new Fantasy terrain kit for those looking to set up and siege an Old Fortress. This new HDF Old Fortress is modular and will give you a great backdrop for a siege, a battle through a ruined and forgotten jewel of a faded kingdom and more.

This compact and affordable Fortress has been designed to be easy to build and the modular nature of it means that you can build it to suit the tabletop that you're playing on. You could turn it into a fortress that becomes your tabletop in a skirmish game or have it as the centrepiece of your larger gaming board where massive armies rally together to take control of it.
Old Fortress Gate // Kromlech
As well as coming as part of a large kit where you get everything that you need for your Fortress, it also looks like you'll also be able to pick up lots of individual elements of the Old Fortress. This means that you can use these smaller sets to craft your own Fortress OR add to the larger one, giving you new modular build options.
Old Fortress Tower // Kromlech
There looks to be enough space in the likes of the towers and on top of the walls for a good skirmishing force to swashbuckle their way across them. This feels like it would be great for a lot of the small, Indie, Fantasy skirmish games out there, where you bring a small warband of knights or something to fight over the place where a glorious relic now lies.
You also have loads of nice Wall options, which allow you to customise the layout of your Fortress.

As well as the larger wall sections (including the Ruined Wall, which would be great for mid-game changes of terrain), you also have smaller sections of wall, which are key to changing the direction of your set-up and provide you with more options.

All of this terrain will soon be up on the Kromlech Fantasy section of their website, allowing you to dive in and get yourself an Old Fortress all ready to go for tabletops over the Summer. Get in some gaming with friends and set up a really fun scenario or two using this kit!

Looks tempting… wonder what price it’ll be
Ya just can’t beat a good medieval fortress.
I really do like the look of this, though admittedly I find the ‘gatehouse’ VERY underwhelming. There’s… there’s really nothing in that to write home about; it’s just another part of the wall with a gate and a grate on it. Bit bland.
But I think combing this with the Sarissa Precision Odiham castle would create something VERY interesting, especially if you use the 45 degree angle bits a lot to create a shape other than a square or rectangle.
