Blkout by taochi

We start things off this time with taochi, who has been working through some miniatures for a game they found called Blkout. This has been on their radar for a while and after having access to miniatures for Fantasy, Wild West and Modern games, alongside retro Sci-Fi, they are tempted to dive into some Hard Sci-Fi with this range.

Blkout #1 by taochi

taochi picked up the two-player starter set for the game and dove into painting the collection of miniatures, which have that very cool Near Future vibe to them. I really like the mix of the classic camouflage that you'd expect on soldiers alongside that sleek, black, modern weaponry and technology. It works really nicely, especially with the Sci-Fi basing.

Blkout #2 by taochi

taochi has done an excellent job on painting these miniatures and you've even got that impressive Peacemaker walker. Again, the camouflage looks impressive and you can see that all of the different figures look excellent when combined with the terrain that taochi has been working on. Talking of terrain, taochi also realised that they didn't have any terrain for the game and so had to work on printing some of that for their collection!

Blkout #3 by taochi

I like that this has become an all-encompassing project where the miniatures and terrain are all coming together. I am also impressed with the finish of the terrain too, going with the brighter colours which gives off more of a Hard Sci-Fi vibe. I am always excited when folks use the Projects to help showcase the new games that they have found and their journey into them.

Marvel by jeffersonpowers

Next up, we're going to be having a look at what jeffersonpowers has been working on. They have decided that they're going to be taking a deep dive into Marvel with a whole host of miniatures for the game, going from the core set all the way up!

Marvel #1 by jeffersonpowers

jeffersonpowers is one hell of a quick painter, always ready to power through projects and use lots of good techniques in order to make the miniatures pop. It does mean I don't think I've ever seen a project that jeffersonpowers hasn't finished. I have painted my way through the Marvel Crisis Protocol miniatures and I really enjoy them but I think there's something to be said about going down this quicker route with speed paints that rocks way better than the traditional method!

Marvel #2 by jeffersonpowers

I picked out some of the iconic miniatures from the set to show off here, including Spider-Man, Iron Man and Captain America. I think they are iconic and I think that they have turned out exceptionally well. I also think the basing from jeffersonpowers also rocks, looking suitably realistic. Mine looks a bit more cartoony, and that's great, but I think there's something about these that ticks a lot of boxes.

Marvel #3 by jeffersonpowers

jeffersonpowers has quite a few miniatures left to be painted as part of this new Marvel collection and so I can't wait to see where they go with this as the project grows. Also, congratulations on doing a superb job on Captain America's shield. That was one hell of a pain to paint when I was doing it!

Blood Bowl Gnomes by commodorerob

Last but not least, we're delving into the painting from commodorerob for one of their newer passions, Blood Bowl. They have done an excellent job on the Blood Bowl Gnomes, going with some impressive colours which make them stand out from the norm.

Blood Bowl Gnomes #1 by commodorerob

The Blood Bowl miniatures from Games Workshop are packed with detail and I think commodorerob has done a superb job of capturing that with their painting. I like the more earthy tones of their kit and the bright blue beards just set them off perfectly. They feel particularly quirky and cool, perfect for the Gnome vibe.

Blood Bowl Gnomes #2 by commodorerob

I also really like that commodorerob has taken the time to do the bases a little bit of justice as well. Rather than just going for a basic green, commodorerob has added on the lines from the pitch alongside a really nice wilderness feel, which makes it feel like these Gnomes are playing on their home ground.

Blood Bowl Gnomes #3 by commodorerob

When they all come together, the miniatures look excellent and it's a project well done, ready for some time on the pitch. Also, kudos on doing the extra work on adding their names to the bases, which is going to make them much easier to play with when they're on the tabletop. I have become a convert to the idea of adding names to bases!
