Conquer The 3rd Century With Footsore’s New Roman Miniatures

Footsore Miniatures & Games is now the new home of the AD Miniatures range by sculptor Adam Smith. It currently features a great set of 3rd-century Romans for you to use when conquering the world and establishing your empire in your Historical wargames.

The current collection has a good core of troops and leaders that you'd need for building a warband or a small army to use in your games. For example, the Legion Command above comes with some really characterful 28mm scale figures representing a Centurion, a Decurion with a vexillum, a standard bearer in his bearskin and finally, a musician.

Making up the core of your army, you've also got a series of Legionaries clad in their lorica segmentata armour and either armed with their spears or swords.

These Legionaries come in a couple of different poses, so you can either have them defending or advancing on the enemy. They are also wearing the Neidermormter helmets, which are an iconic style of Roman helmet that was worn during the 2nd and 3rd centuries.

As well as the core of your warband or army being represented by the Legionaries, you also have options for taking a few siege weapons that could spook the enemy or perhaps be used to punch holes in the defences of your enemy's fort.

There are a trio of different Ballista/Scorpio sets for you to choose from, all of which fit into this particular era of Roman conquest. They are really nicely detailed and I think perhaps the best parts of the AD Miniatures collection!

As well as the version of the Scorpio with the crew intact, there is also another set which features a set of casualties. These are clearly a crew that has been overrun by the enemy and find themselves fighting desperately to get back to the rest of the army!

As well as being good crew for a beleaguered Scorpio, they could also be general casualty markers for you to use in your games to show various status effects and fatigue amongst your armies. The fellow by the marker stone could be an excellent objective for you to fight over.
