Couldn’t get a ticket in the end. Going I dig out my barely started LRDG project and join all you guys in spirit.
I’ll try and get a bit of painting done tonight hopefully.

Do the squad compersitions for the German africa Korp in Bolt action conform to the same structure as the squads in Konflict 47.
I don’t have access to bolt action until the boot camp, but I can borrow a copy of Konflict 47 from a friend
September 17, 2018 at 6:43 pm #1269688Crikey the closer this gets the more out of my depth I feel I am going to be at this boot camp.
I will find a quiet corner.
September 17, 2018 at 8:37 pm #1269750@trewets : there are no undead zombies in Bolt-action 😉
I suspect that the K47 squads aren’t that different from their Bolt-action counterparts, minus the ‘occult/weird science’ stuff of course.
I wonder … do we get a normal starter army + a K47 inspired desert themed expansion ? … we can dream, right ?(unless you want authentic armies … then it’s a nightmare ;-))
September 17, 2018 at 8:46 pm #1269752@laughingboy don’t worry about it mate. Stick close to me.
@trewets they’re similar. What did you want to know about, numbers, weapons
September 18, 2018 at 6:44 am #1269870@laughingboy – you n me both fella!!!
September 18, 2018 at 8:08 am #1269886weapon type and number per squad etc
@ avernos Guessing one lieutenant smg ,lmg plus loader and seven rifle men as a basic squad.
Also do the squads in Africa have access to assault rifles?
I will have to wait on heavy support ie tank till I get there.
September 18, 2018 at 8:18 am #1269896@trewets if you look at the free online bolt action army builder it will show you what you can have in any particular campaign
http://boltaction.easyarmy.com/PlatoonSelector.aspx
But a squad of regular troops is an NCO with 9 Men all with rifles. you can give your NCO a SMG plus add a LMG team so NCO with SMG, 1 Man with LMG and 8 Rifles (one as loader) its quite flexible in your team.
Most specialist units like SAS or Commandos are in teams of 8 Men 1x NCO and 7 Men
September 18, 2018 at 9:13 am #1269946@trewets your basic squad is 5 riflemen, it can be increased up to 10. Your NCO may have a SMG, and you can get a light machine gun.
As far as assault rifles the north africa campaign was over before they finished the trial period for them, even the amount of SMGs is limited compared to later lists.
@irishsteve you can join us in our corner 😉
September 18, 2018 at 4:25 pm #1270197@avernos nice! Save us a seat, I don’t take up much room!!
September 18, 2018 at 5:43 pm #1270251Just a thought and a small thing that people might not like but what do you think of name badges for the boot camp, username and first name.
when we all arrive it can be a little overwhelming so might be nice to at least put a face to a username. I don’t want to kill the art of introduction but I am going to forgot so fast.
September 18, 2018 at 8:25 pm #1270363I’ll have to make a special POW compound just for him @suetoniuspaullinus ?
September 18, 2018 at 9:16 pm #1270369@laughingboy : don’t worry … not everyone is experienced in desert warfare.
and yeah, name tags + forum names might be useful. I didn’t know who was who (except for Oriskany and the Bow crew LOL).
@brucelea : we will reserve a special place in hell for any Tommy daring to touch our glorious leader 😉
