About the Project

I have decided to tackle a terrain project based on the Frostgrave spin off Ghost Archipelago. The lost colossus supplement contains a number of scenarios which involve war bands seeking out the shattered parts of a giant statue. They fight over the leg and the hand etc. I wondered how to deal with that before looking around work for body parts. I work in a museum that has some old mannequins in storage as they are no longer in fashion for exhibits. All I could find was a hand so got in touch with a nearby visitor attraction who were very helpful after telling me they had a cellar full of body parts. I helped myself to a female dummy and hacked it up. I have started with the head and after being inspired by the games art work I had it chopped in half and decorated it with geenstuff and bits of card. I remembered to take her eyelashes off first.

THE HAND

I managed to get a dummy with a hand that can be unscrewed from it’s body. One of the game scenarios has the warbands fighting over the statues hand. This hand is suitably open so a mini can stand on it’s open palm. I gave it a quick spray but I need to remove the peg in the wrist before I go any further.

THE HEAD

After texturing the head with Greenstuff I scraped some lines into the surface to give the impression of stone sections. I had to deal with the hole in her neck so I filled it with simple card and sponge. A bit slap dash but it looks ok to me. I gave it a quick grey and green spray. Next step a bit of dry brushing.
