About the Project
After picking up Star Wars Legion and paying a few Tatooine desert games I think it's time to think about some of the other worlds that can be done and create some terrain or adapt some from other games for use in a galaxy far far away.

One hour star wars
A friend was interested in getting their yen year old into Wargames and fancied something star wars. Legion is a bit difficult for a kid whose never played a Wargame so I looked at one hour wargames. It covers every period from ancients to ww2. I thought of swapping out ww2 for star wars. It's very simple to play. All infantry moves 6 inches and have a range of 12 but only shoot if they can't move. To hit you roll advice and the target takes that many wounds. Once they get 15 they are destroyed 
Both sides have 6 units. The mortar has a 48 range and can fire at units that are spotted by your units and add 2 to hits on infantry 
Once the units got close the shots were flying once two units teamed up
The empire try and block the Rebels going for the enemy mortar. The game lasted an hour and the Rebels won with just a couple of wounds left on a weapon team 
The second battle had vehicles thrown in and the Rebels had to defend a bunker and hill. The empire just need to capture one. 
Only infantry can stay in cover and receive half damage. Using the jungle in the table center the Rebels pepper the empire with damage as they try and take the hill. The rebel vehicle on the hill also takes less damage being hull down. 
The empire took the hill but the Rebels broke cover and kicked the troopers of the objective. The two games were quick enough to keep a ten year old interested. The book has 30 scenarios. I would like to have ago at the napoleonic version with options to form square. Swoop gang
For some reason I didn't paint the bikes bright red and blue. Unlike the IG droids I like the sprue choices. There are enough heads to get this pack more than once and have 6 bikers all looking different IG Droids
Nice models but I do have an issue with the kit. You can make two droids but you have a spare torso two sets of legs and two sets of arms. All that's missing is a head. Why not just let us make three of them instead of two sets of arms that aren't even different to the ones used. Waist of sprue space. 
Unexpected encounter
So off I go up snowdon with my scorch egg and brandy flask

As its May the 4th (and my birthday) I picked up the pursader tank which I put together yesterday. Its the only mini for legion I didn't have so I'm now up to date. I have to admit I hated putting this together. It seemed to me to have too many unnecessary parts. Maybe I just don't build enough tanks but I had early leman russ flashbacks
