New inspiration
Picked up this new book which contains the technical drawings for the movies and contains every vehicle and building from the franchise. For me I love having the layout to the colony complex from Aliens which I will use as inspiration to build my own. Where I can find buildings that match though?

SATCOM Uplink
I got this piece of scenery from Model mods as a part of my colony complex. The dish has a motor so spins round. It was a bit fiddly to put together with the elastic band motor. I thought it would make a good objective piece with units trying to reach it to call down a dropship from orbit for example. I added a couple of alien universe posters.
APC
The APC from Aliens is one of those great movie vehicles. In reality it would be rather impractical with it’s one main door on one side only and low profile. They used a vehicle that tows planes for this in the movie and it weighed an awful lot. The kit has a removable roof so we can see the command and control unit inside. The gun turret swivels and retracts which you can see it do in the film to fit through a hatchway. It’s little attentions to detail like that that made me love this film.

The APC from Aliens is a great vehicle despite the fact is rater impracticable with only one exit apart from a small drivers hatch and its low profile. I went for grey rather than green. The real vehicle was designed to tow planes at airports and was re purposed for the film. The turret swivels and retracts, one of those little attentions to detail I loved in the film. 
The Grunts
These are my three squads not from the board game. One has been converted into my heavy weapon squad and two standard units. Each unit has a smart gun and a flame unit who is also a medic. Their kit is attached to their belts. Yes I know there isn’t much camo green on space ships but there are a lot of worlds out there.
