It's taken some time to get back to this project. This section covers the toon ripley and newt get locked in with the face huggers so you an spot her bed. 
Now this is done I can think about the lower level and how that's going to work BATTLE REPORT TWO
The second scenario is adapted from the quarantine 37 book using the rules for bugs to introduce some xenomorphs. The two sides scramble to steal loot and get out a doorway. The rules say don't use corridor tables like this as it creates choke points. We spaced things out as best we could and med lab and operations are fairly big spaces 
Immediately bugs drop down from the ceiling and after some shocking attempts to gun them down leap into combat. The resulting melee stops the marines from progressing 
The UPP have a similar problem in the med lab
Flame units are great in confined spaces and 
The UPP decide to gang up on the alien knock it out of combat and shoot it
A UPP commando sets up position to snipe at any marines who come this way while his hacker friend logs into the terminal 
While the marines struggle with warrior bugs pinning them in operations the UPP grab the loot
The UPP make good their escape while the marines struggle 
The marines get one loot token out through a duct while the UPP grab 4.
Game over manStargrave battle report 1
I adapted the salvage scenario from the stargrave rulebook. Instead of a crashed derelict we had the drops hip with a sentry gun set up on the landing grid. The Union of Progressive people and the colonial marines have to grab the loot from the ships ramp and the surrounding loot. 
The UPP close in on the abandoned drops hip and come under fire from the automated defenses 
The colonial marines close in on the opposite side laying down fire from a gunner 
As the crews grab loot tokens this plucky marine takes shits at the UPP as they secure the main objective 
A UPP runner heads for a data loot but gets gunned down 
The marines dowse the UPP with a fleme thrower keeping them back while the first mate secures some loot 
The UPP set up a field of fire across the landing grid before heading to the rear of the drops hip to secure the data loot that the marines were near capturing 
The marines give chase but the burner is gunned down crossing the grid
The marines lay down fire and the UPP head off the field while the marines head the other way with what data they have Stargrave crews
I thought I'd have a look at creating crews for stargrave using the quarantine 37 supplement for the bug alien rules. This crew of marines has a commando a burner a heavy weapon and a hacker 
The UPP crew has more troopers with grenadiers and a couple of hacker types 
My colony building fits in one box but with another level to do I'm gonna need more space
I need to come up with a more solid way of keeping my outer colony walls together. I've tried small magnets but the angle and weight is working against me 
I've also discovered that LV 27 designes also do the part of the med lab where ripley and newt get locked in with face huggers. So this will expand my top floor even more The Peoples Army
I wanted these troops to look like a Chinese Russian crossover with that 80s sci-fi feel
My unit leaders have a splash of communist red. This little force needs their version of the APC and will add some variety to the universe. I'm happy with how it's turned out so far UPP space Operating force

Couple of weeks ago I had the crazy idea of making another human faction for any Alien based games and thought about the UPP. They are detailed in the RPG as basically space communists who have a bit of a cold war going on with the Americas. The colonial marine guide details the unions forces and some if the vehicles. 
I picked up Wargames Atlantics cannon fodder box but the guns are a bit too ladgun for this project. 
These five will be the space Operating Force who I'm basing off the art work above. These will be the unions special forces while everyone else are the peoples army. I used spare armour plating from my WW1 French for shoulder pads
From Anvil Industries I got some of their imperial guard conversion bits. I wanted something that looked more like an AKpulse rifle and some shoulder pads that look a bit colonial marine but more bulky

Painting up the board game pieces. You don't get the full crew and are board game pieces but still look good.
