About the Project
I recently printed a few slums buildings and I immediately thought of the shades. I generally make enough terrain to fill a 6x4 , but how would it go if properly focused on a 2x2 or 3x3 fantasy city street scene. Then I recalled an old Osprey game called Kobolds and Cobblestones. I reckon it's time to have a good nose through my fantasy prints and have a look at Knucklebones miniatures again.

The New Big House
I sourced a new centerpiece building and after a week or so of printing I am pleased to present the new Big House
The inside of this building has lots of space for playability, you could probably run a whole game in it. I am planning to add a little bit of furniture .
More buildings...
With the advent of The Guards of Traitors’ Toll, I realised everything I was making for this game would pretty much fit into Traitors Toll as well. Then I saw the preview of the buildings they were releasing, lovely, but ‘ow much!
For the princely sum of £11 I picked up some slightly whimsical medieval town house STL files
As I was painting a bunch of these buildings I had a rummage through my unpainted terrain boxes and found some medieval fantasy bits and bobs, stuff I could experiment with colour schemes on. Even found a windmill. Not really city appropriate, but while I am painting…why not?
I decided to move the ‘big house’ ,as I call it, out of this project and into my drowned earth project instead. Instead I plan to build a couple of other centre piece buildings . I am also looking at a couple of shops potentially
Made a little more progress on the town houses. I also found a range of slum houses that fit perfectly between the town houses and the ‘Shades Shacks’.
Finally completed the first townhouse, just nine more to go!
Rogues Gallery
I’m not convinced my miniature painting skills are worth showcasing like this as I am more of an army painter really. But here goes …
Still some work to do on basing. I definitely need to give the ruffian something to lean on! Very tempted to strip the paint off of the thief and use a colour card for a paint scheme to work to. It’s a really nice mini and I don’t think I have done it justice.
The Big House
The makers of the slum set added a new building to the range. A bit of a town hall of sorts , it’s only after I printed the first piece that I realised how big this thing was going to be.
I had two Bambu labs P1Ps going flat out for just over a week.Still have no idea where I am going to store it.
Painting Update
Started slapping some contrast paints on the assorted miniatures, painting them with a view to looking like denizens of Ankh-Morpork. Lobbed in some half painted Frostgrave minis too.
What's in a name?
Given this name generator clocks in at 33 pages I decided a pdf would be better than showing all the details in project.
The first table creates a list of which name tables to roll on . It can give titles, nicknames, first names and surnames.
There are 199 male and female first names, 100 title and 100 nicknames and 800 surnames to go at , so there’s not much risk of two of your gangers having the same name.
Miniatures phase 1
Having avoided printing any miniatures for the time being. I set about priming and drybrushing the metal miniatures I have accumulated.
