So I took  two week break from building and painting to do some research for my next WW2 hobby, but then along comes the grandson with this statement..”GRANDAD, LOOK WHAT MY OTHER NANNY BOUGHT ME FOR MY BIRTHDAY FOR YOU AND ME TO BUILD!” and in that statement the words “Me and You to build” meant  you to build Grandad and so my quest into Japanese Lego began and let me say on the box it says 6 year old, Japanese 6 year olds must be bloody engineers. So I opened the box emptied it out, looked through the booklet and politely swore under my breath and hoped his other nanny’s Broom stick catches fire whilst smiling kindly at my Grandson. So I will just now post pictures of a non game related project… JAPNESE VTOL LEGO BUILD….

So  after the lego madness its back to my WW2 hobbing so I decided to start with building some vehicles. So bit of kit bashing on all the vehicles except the Tiger 1. So each tank has its commander out as per the way to spot, some tank drivers also with abit of cutting and filing of the tank command figures you get with each warlord kit. So I built four Sherman V and 2 fireflies, one Tiger 1 , 2 Kangaroo APC ( Priest) and a M3A1 Half – track.

FINALLY got to finish my 2nd squad of German vets after catching the nasty new covid strain and my body feeling it had been continually butt slammed by Kim Kardashian’s arse cheeks and sweating like Rolf Harris in a…… anyway, I only built 2 sqauds as I dont really like the kneeling down pose in my squads so have used the kneeling minis to build some pioneers  but how many of these is yet to be confirmed.

Pioneer squad finished found asprue of Blitzkrieg minis from an magazine so used some of them to do more  upright poses instead of kneeling type. Primed vet squad and pioneers with Vallejo German panzer grey so they are now ready to finish. Then decided to do a quick paint job on my two scout cars, the Humber MK III and the American M8, quick prime of Army green then used my paint pens to finish, quick wash all over just driver in the M8 to do and done, decals to be chosen when I decide on unit and then weathering to finish.

So I thought to myself did I hear Terrain fest…never done anything for this before, so my idea for this is to update my ww2 buildings and possibly setting them in a village setting but will start with the buildings first. So got my buildings together and firstly removed some of the window shutters that could be removed okay and then gave them a coating of polyvila and other buildings where I could not get the shutters removed without ruining them I gave these building a coating of watered down polyvila and then added tile caps using thin card
