Priest update - Almost done
Work continues on the priests, robes are all done. Just the jewellery and script work to go. Need to try my hand at doing some text but think ill practice this after watching some videos before applying it to these guys.
Epic Guard Stormtroopers and some terrain
Ive finished up some stormtroopers, the idea these guys get dropped in via Valkyrie gunships. Ive got two companies done.
Whilst doing this army i also found some 3d files that fit the scale perfetly and so bought some of the buildings (link below). They print out very nicely and hopefully will paint up nice when i figure out what to do with them.
With these files i found that they are made solid whereas the better thing to do (on an FDM printer) is to hollow the building to save on filament and cut the top off and print separately, this also has the benefit of making the print faster.
The Mighty Waaaagh - The Stompas
Stompas are mostly done, i say mostly as looking at the picture i need to do something with the black, add some highlights as its just too flat at the moment.
Love these dumpy orkish brutes. Also thought they would be good opponents for the knights i plan to have with my guard army.
I like the idea there is a big mek in the ork army cranking out all the crazy creations the orks have. Also i love the ork mek model in 28mm so there will definitely be one with them.
The Mighty Waaaagh - The Speed Freaks
Speed freaks got done. managed 5 bases of bikes and 5 war buggies.
Bases again are still to do but was another set i was glad to have got done as my 28mm orks have some warbuggies and will get a few bikes. It took a while to work out what the detail on these models actually were, it always amazes me the amount of details they put onto models this small!
The Mighty Waaaagh - The Boyz
I actually enjoyed painting these guys up, i think i should have gone darker for initial skin colour so you can pick out the details on the face from a distance but for models this small itll do.
Luckily these are quite easy to paint up as im pretty sure for a whole mob ive got to paint hundreds of the little buggers.
I’ll need to take a picture of all the bases together as ive lost track of how many i actually did in the end. I guess the main point of this is not to necessarily have a working army but something that looks good and feels ‘right’ when i look at it.
The Commanders Meet
Okay i’ll be honest, i’ve not finished the basing on the Orks yet and the guard bases could use some tidying up.
But here is the guard commander and the Ork warboss. The Orks are the original epic minis as they have a certain charm, the guard aren’t as i couldn’t get hold of any so are all 3d prints.
I still need to come up with some back story for these guys but for now whilst im enjoying painting the minis im going to keep going.
Epic Guard
So this is my epic guard army which kicked off the whole thing. As mentioned on other posts i never really saw 40k as a 28mm game. After reading the books and getting a feel for the massive battlefields of the 41st millennium epic scale was the only scale that looked right for me. Its also the only scale that i felt made sense in having artillery pieces and whole companies of battle tanks.
These are pretty much all 3d prints, given the height and overall small size it is really easy to print a lot off in very few batches. Especially on an Elegoo Saturn.
Tanks are mostly from the talented MKHand

The infantry are from Miffles_Makes

Woddish also does a load of great epic tanks, some of mine may have come from him also:

Golden Button!
Given how few recommendations i had on this project i was very pleasantly surprised it had been noticed for a golden button.
I had better upload some more project pics and progress to show what ive been up to!
