About the Project

This project will go through my progress through the Gundam Assemble tabletop game. Starting off with the Zaku Painting Showcase and with no doubt more to follow after that if and when I can get my hand on the actual game.

I was lucky to be one of the few selected to participate in the Zaku Painting Showcase for Gundam Assemble. I am interested in the game, but I have to be honest, I have not actually seen any of the anime yet. It is on my list though. So with that I have absolutely no clue what I am doing, as per usual, and will most likely piss off fans by what I am going to do. Although I don’t think it is going to be a far stretch from the artwork I am looking at. I will try to stick relatively close to the artwork, but I will be weathering it in a Grimdark style and the base colour is going to be a candy pink.

Here is some of the art I have been looking at;

The first image really encapsulates what I want to do with the base as well since the Grimdark weathering I have been doing has been in urban settings. I see no reason to change it now or try something new. I mean, when the sprue comes in I am probably only going to have roughly 20 days to get it done as the deadline is the 11th of October. So I don’t have any time to experiment or do a massive conversion.

I did not draw this myself.

How tempting this is as an idea, I do not have the time to sculpt an otter for the Zaku to ride. I think the drawing I found is actually a weasel, but it wouldn’t be difficult to make that an otter.

This is going to be a tight one to get done in time, so let’s get ready.
