Plants Vs Zombies is a well-known franchise and it's now coming to the tabletop with this one-to-four-player cooperative game, which has you holding out against horrifying and hilarious zombie hordes as they try to invade your home! You will work together with fellow players or take on the challenge solo, battling against the zombies and encountering increasingly challenging levels.

Gameplay - Plants Vs Zombies The Board Game

Each of the levels in the game will feature unique set-ups, objectives for you to complete and, of course, a zombie horde for you to defeat. You will be able to improve your chances between levels by using a series of upgrades to enhance your garden's defences, unlocking additional plants and tools which can give you different strategic options for defeating the zombies!

Cards - Plants Vs Zombies The Board Game

Gameplay is driven by your player cards. You can use Plant Cards to activate your defences, whilst Tool Cards have powerful effects that can change the flow of gameplay. For example, you could utterly scythe through a lane of zombies with the use of a lawnmower!

Zombie Cards then represent the horde. The undead will shamble down their lanes towards your home, advancing each time they are played. A twist is that all Zombie cards must be played when you do so, so you need to try and balance when they're going to hit and plan your turn wisely.

Gameplay is also taught through the course of the game, from level to level, adding additional challenges naturally as you play. There are also difficulty scaling options presented in the box so you can change up the game to suit the kind of players you're bringing to the tabletop. If you're a bunch of board gaming veterans, crank it right up to eleven!

The Kickstarter will give you a chance to get the game first with the option to delve into the Deluxe Kickstarter Edition, which comes with pre-assembled miniatures and bonus campaign content. You'll also be able to get Plants Vs Zombies: Night Edition, which is a standalone expansion that comes with more plants, more zombies and additional campaign content for you to extend your time with the board game.

Watch out for the Kickstarter launching on 14th October 2026!
