Why not include Orks people say?
I say “why not include Orks, and release this a fortnight before the standalone Ork book”
That would put some wallets under pressure….

azreal13 commented on the post, Why Narrative Is So Important To Wargaming… 11 years, 11 months ago
I totally agree that interpreting the in game events into a story is definitely an aspect of playing games which I enjoy, even if I’d self identify as more of a painter than a gamer. It is just a shame that “forging the narrative” has been co-opted by GW as a term which has subsequently […]

Important to consider that powers apparently now don’t just fire off on a successful leadership. Much like fantasy, you choose a number of dice, generated from a pool as D6 + the total mastery level of all your Psykers, to attempt a cast, the Warp Charge is the number of successes (4+) needed from that […]

azreal13 commented on the post, First Warhammer 40,000 7th Edition Rules Changes Emerge! 11 years, 11 months ago
The potential issue with Unbound, which personally I’ve yet to see enough evidence of to be too concerned about, while acknowledging the misgivings of those who are, is that it is a choice at list building stage. Not an issue in a pre-arranged game, but if I build a battle forged list, pack up my […]

I think you’re guilty of what I suspect the Studio is also here Warren, in that you play in a regular social group with opponents you know well most of the time. Rules are needed to provide a structure so you can still have an enjoyable time playing even if your opponent is a dick. […]

Total balance? None.
A better level of balance with fewer models/units/factions too far away from a median power curve to essentially be useless in a regular game or obviously the best choice to the detriment of all others? Nearly all of them.

Headline’s back to front, should read 7th, and yes, the Rulebook appears to have disappeared not only from the webstore, but apparently from the handful of GW’s that open on a Monday to check.

azreal13 commented on the post, GW Watch: The Day Everything Changed? 12 years, 3 months ago
Nah, I think you’ve nailed it. There’s a multi page thread over on Dakka asking what GW need to do to get people buying again. Amongst the usual infighting and tangents, the two overwhelming things are “better rules” and price. Better rules would take time and investment, but price is something they can start to […]

I pre ordered their Blood Tyrant (the lion centaur/undead samurai thing) and was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the cast, and the size. I’ve been looking for a third model for my “as many non-GW models as possible” Daemons army, if this is the right size, I’m in too! (Oh, and they discount […]

azreal13 commented on the post, Mierce Miniatures Show Off Some Mighty Monsters 12 years, 6 months ago
@cpauls1 While you’re right that some of the minis are expensive, you also have to take that in context. You need far fewer models to play than WHFB, which being a fantasy game will no doubt be the one it is most often compared to, so the price to start playing is lower, and in all […]

I already own several models as proxies in my 40K Daemon army, and have taken the opportunity this KS offers to grab sufficient models to actually play the game. In my opinion, the single most exciting miniatures company operating today, and with the exception of some earlier sculpts (I’m looking at you Melusines) that could […]

The Chinese Dragodemon looks lovely, so much so, I went across to place a pledge to get my hands on him, but sadly, the pledge levels are a bit high and there’s not too many options available. Oh well, if my hobby ADHD hasn’t taken me off in completely the opposite direction I may well […]

I’m always on the look out for good “counts as” models for my 40K daemons, and I have to say that everything, even the fluff, about that Jorogumo is screaming Slaaneshi Prince to me.

@elromanozo Would you combine this with zenithal highlighting, or do the two techniques more less male the other redundant?

azreal13 commented on the post, Rumor: Close Combat Weapons Getting AP in 40K 6th ED? 13 years, 10 months ago
Because that is how it used to work in 2nd, and it rendered all but Terminator armour largely useless (Termies had a 3+ on 2D^, so could concievably save anything) AP values have, imho, gone a long way to making armour more representative of how it is portrayed, and I wouldn’t want to go back […]
