About the Project
Turns out i may be a hobby butterfly freshly hatched from my chrysalis of denial. This challenge started with the intention of completing a project i started many years ago when i purchased advanced space crusade. Turns out i am now massively into rebasing my epic collection on washers so they dont slide around everywhere im not sure where my hobby time will take me next. I have recently noticed that when i start a project with enthusiasm i take my time and enjoy what i am doing but then when a new shiny catches my eye i rush through the project to try to get it done as fast as possible so i can start the next thing. So i think the project will now be reduce the pile of shame but in my own time and pace, i can always go back to a project when the enthusiasm returns which it always does.

Testing out my new 3d printer of doom
Picked up a larger resin printer in last years black Friday sale. Decided to fire it up for the first time.
It’s a creality halot mage printer the build plate is much bigger than my creality ld002h so should be able to print full units for games or even larger vehicles always fancied a 28mm laat
Went with something small but epic for a quick first print to test it out. Had some issues due to trusting in pre supported files which is something you should never do, so after some swearing and a bit of clean up I fired the files into chitubox resupported and had a successful print
Next up was some StarWars dudes and something a bit taller for my orc and goblin force
Purple trolls of dooom
Rebase ing these chaps reminded me how much fun they were to convertThe heads that came with these models were cool but I have always had a soft spot for John Blanche and Paul Bonner style heads.
So I decided to try to recreate some heads using a 3d art program on my tablet called nomad sculpt to try to print some of my own
One of them needed a top not that I could not work out how to print so left a hole in the head and stuck the bristles of an old paintbrush on

Operation rebase the orcs
Many orcs and goblins in need of a spruce upBeen really enjoying the old world having played a few games with my good old Dwarf army and a newer wood elf army.
So have decided to give my orcs a dust off. Rather than use spaced movement trays I fancied a rebase of the army to the newer larger bases as I think they look cool on bigger bases also the old basing was not great so needed some care and attention after years sitting in a box
2000 points of orcs on bigger bases, now to build some movement trays
Been painting a moonstone chap today,whilst waiting for bits to dry I messed about with these chaps.
The orcs were a bit chipped and broken so stuck them back together on the new bases then gave them a bone drybrush and a good coat of army painter strong tone. Once that dried they got a matt varnish. Last but not least the bases had a good splodge of soil works autumn ground.
These chaps are now ready to join waaagh Guff Nuggets
Cavelry inbound
No kreig army is complete with out angry horses but did not want to pay gw price. A quick fuddle through the shame pile and I found some perry's horses, went to work with clippers glue and greenstuff and made these chaps
Horsey command unit, this chap is a forge world commissar that I have had knocking about for a while
I then needed a warlord for the 69th, so chopped up a deathkorps watch master and stuck him on a horse to make a lord solar thingamy
No guard army is complete without a marbo so cobbled this dude together with bits from anvil and the scions and death korps spruesGetting the 69th hamfist ready for the table
Spent the last week getting some paint on these chaps.painted them with ak paints which cover nicely then washed them with mig acrylic wash to make them look grimy
Converted up a couple of platoon commanders from the bits box of doom
Converted up a couple of marshals using parts from anvil and some kreig bits and bobs.Completed my Undead army of doom
Bam ? finished a 1500 point army of undead for 5th edition warhammer fantasyOver the past 6 months I have been painting a unit a month for the crown of command challenge to complete a 1500 point force.
I hope to expand this force to about double the size and maybe adapt it to the old world using spaced movement trays.
I think a vampire would be a cool addition and maybe more smelly zombies to roam the table looking for brains.
The last unit completed was a screaming skull catapult Skelly-bums chariot of doom
Been having fun painting an old school undead chariot. Army painter speed paints and drybrushing for the win.Waiting for the old world painting epic buildings
Wanted to paint up some terrain for upcoming epic games, I have had the card buildings for a long time so thought they deserved a nice coat of paint on the roofs and some fresh glue on the card.
The plastic buildings are from the titanicus box.
To paint them I used a sponge and blobbed on brown followed by blue grey then light grey.
To pick out the finer details they were then drybrushed with deck tan and bleached bone.
It was a lot faster than I thought now I have to find something else to do whilst I wait for the old world.
