Nice video. I’ve got some more advice though 🙂
First of al I found that it’s better to use 2 small units of Mc Thralls instaed of one big one. Because of the low command value of the leader they have to clump together witch makes them very nice targets for aoe attacks. Dump one Helljack and indeed replace the other for a seether. Two big Helljacks is to much for a caster like Great Gaspy. He’s much better of debuffing the enemy and buffing his own units. I personally love Bane Thralls with him. The extra arm debuff they provide works really nice with Gaspy
Parasite! This gives a unit/model -3 armour. Combine it with a unit with schything touch and thats 5 point of extra damage! 7 With Bane’s. Say bye bye Khador heavy’s!
Oh and Pistol Wraiths don’t have terror. They’re nasty enough as it is. And they get soul tokens for killing living models not just solo’s.
Some thoughts from me:
Mechanithralls are great in regard to their price and damage output, but they hit NOTHING. I think they are really good with casters that can debuff the enemies DEF or boost the Mechanithralls MAT, e.g. Denegrah (p&e), pSkarre and so on. But not Asphyxious.
Here is a list I would recommend:
Iron Lich Asphyxious
* Cankerworm (5pts) (Sneaky, funny guy that can annoy the hell out of you opponent *g*)
* Nightwretch (4pts) (Arc node)
* Seether (9pts) (Focus efficient)
* Skarlock Thrall
Bane Thralls (Leader and 9 Grunts) (Great for removing high ARM & they are hard to remove themself)
* Bane Thrall Officer & Standard
Bile Thralls (Leader and 5 Grunts) (Great for removing high DEF)
Pistol Wraith
Warwitch Siren (Gives a jack one Focus and has a nice spray attack. One of the best solos in the game for the respective points cost)
This army can deal with high armoured opponents with ease and has means to deal with high defense troops as well. I think its pretty balanced and a lot of fun. It also contains the best infantry that Cryx can bring to the table, so I think its a good way start.
A few things I’d like to toss in here, know the video has been up for some time, but I’ve been away:
Asphyxious’ spell Breath of Corruption is amazing, and I didn’t hear much about it here, if anything at all, unlike most AOE’s, everyone it touches takes that POW 12 roll, which is great for clearing out troops, and it also leaves a cloud behind, which can be nice for blocking line of sight, a nice spell for your Skarlock to toss out as well.
Mechanithralls are wonderful, but more so the Necrosurgeon unit, these are simply a must, and I can’t stress this enough. You mentioned surrounding a jack with the Mcthralls and it can only kill a few.. well, what happens when they are replaced on your turn. And it’s not solely a defensive unit, as you can make new thralls further up, giving you different/further charge lanes that your opponent may not have been expecting. She can also toss of any shots to her to Mechanithralls as well, and remake it next turn.
Could do without a Seether honestly, more troops and even more self reliant things are always welcome, Tartarus, etc, but that’s a bit more preference. The Withershadow Combine would treat him well as well, get an early game parasite on their Warcaster and have the Combine upkeep it the rest of the game, until you can get another lane to arc all those Hellfires, with them now at -3 armor. Sacrificing an Arcnode or two for the greater good isn’t too much to ask.

Looking into doing a khador list soon?
That was very intresting.
You know, I just realised I’m just a little bit sad.
I sat and watched through this although I have absolutely no idea at all about warmachine, its rules, stats or any of its miniatures.
There are plenty of resources here on the site and lots of other people eager to answer your questions if your are interested.
This is where Andy tends to shine hope to see more 🙂

As Bane thralls have been mentioned I hear there is a never ending debate over
Bane thralls+BLT vs Bane Knights
I would love an Andy discussion re this thorny debate
Nice to see more Warmachine. My son and I are pulling away from 40K and getting back to WM and soon Hordes. Good times, good times.
