New Orlock Miniatures Incoming & The Necromunda RPG No More?
October 26, 2026 by brennon
Games Workshop will be taking pre-orders for the new House Orlock miniatures this weekend that will be coming to the new edition of Necromunda that launched earlier in the year. We also had some unfortunate news about one of the more anticipated releases for the Grimdark of Necromunda.
Orlock Road Sergeants & Cyber-mastiffs // Necromunda
We start with the Orlock Road Sergeants & Cyber-mastiffs, which introduce some of the characters that you can use to lead your new Orlock gang in games of Necromunda. This set comes with a Road Captain miniature and five Road Sergeants to back him up alongside two Cyber-mastiffs. You also get loads of different weapon options to play with and cosmetic options for customising your champions.
The second set introduces your Road Warriors.
Orlock Road Warriors // Necromunda
The Road Warriors are your more specialised Orlock gangers, similar to what we saw in the Starter Box for the Goliaths and Eschers. This set comes with archetypes like the Enforcer, Shooter, Engineer and Blaster, all of which come with a suite of abilities to use alongside your gang. Weapon options include meltaguns, pneumatic hammers, outrider flails and the classic sawn-off shotgun. A gang very much honing in on the idea of getting all "Mad Max" on the tabletop.
Some added protection comes in the form of the Orlock Ogryn Minders, who will also be coming up for pre-order this weekend.
Orlock Ogryn Minders // Necromunda
If you're looking for some serious muscle to include in your Orlock gang, then you can't go too far wrong with an Ogryn Minder. They are there to watch over your leaders and champions and make sure the enemy thinks twice about charging them. They can be armed with all sorts of weapons, including heavy mauls, spud-jackers and ripper guns. A great set for those seeking to customise their Ogryn-centric gangs too.
Expanded rules for the Orlocks can be found in their new Underhive Journal.
Underhive Journal - Orlock: The House of Iron // Necromunda
This comes with additional lore and more rules for running the Orlocks in your games of Necromunda. You will be able to build themed gangs like the Road Gang, who get customised outrider quads (cool), or maybe you like the idea of scrapping everything you can lay your hands on. In which case, you go with the new Orlock Wrecking Crews. You can still play Orlocks with the Gangs of the Underhive book but the Underhive Journal just give you more options to play with, including additional subplots and gang tactics.
If you're interested in getting stuck into Necromunda with the Orlocks then you might want to also consider picking up the Card Pack and Dice.
Orlock Card Pack & Dice // Necromunda
The dice are just dice, themed to the Orlocks with their symbol on the six face. The card pack covers your gang tactics, fighter stats, territories and side jobs. All of this will be in the Underhive Journal and such anyway but this could give you an easier way to track all of that.
No Necromunda RPG BUT A Roadmap...
As well as the news for House Orlock, we also got news that the mysterious vanishing Necromunda Roleplay game that was previewed during the last big stream is no more. It won't be coming out because "after careful consideration, we’ve decided to focus our efforts on providing even more great minis for the core game." Hmm.
Necromunda RPG Miniatures // Games Workshop
The silver lining is that the miniatures that were previewed during the preview stream will still be coming out. That means you'll be able to get the new miniatures for the different Houses, as well as the additional Scum and other NPCs for your games of Necromunda. I still think this is a real shame, as the roleplaying game could have been an excellent bridge for both wargamers and roleplayers and it looked super cool as well!
It seems mad that they made this part of their Autumn Preview, shot videos for this and produced (at least) some product to show off, especially with the long lead times we get from Games Workshop nowadays. There has been rampant speculation as to what the real reason behind this cancellation was but we'll probably never know the truth until someone leaves the company and spills the beans. Watch out for "one-of-a-kind, never released Necromunda Roleplay" boxes coming out on eBay in the future...
We did get a roadmap of the content for the next year after that disappointment.
Necromunda Road Map // Games Workshop
Games Workshop are headed back to the Ash Wastes first of all, which means a big vehicle is on the way and more for all factions, I would guess. There will be plenty of delving back into Hive Secundus as you face down Tyranid horrors and then everything is capped off by new Brutes and some ways to include your Bounty Hunters in games of Necromunda. Still plenty coming for the game, which is good to see.
What do you think of the Necromunda news?

Rumour has it that G’Wullu simply “forgot” that they licenced out the rights for W’hamster RPGs to a different company. Even though we might never really know I really do like that explanation the most. (Other rumours being “rules not tested”, “product not finished” and “rules made with AI, testing lead to catastrophic failure”)
The licensing thing seems to have been squashed, as Cubicle 7 has said they never had the option to do anything with Necromunda. As fun as the shareholders/corporate being annoyed at it being a thing is, I doubt that’s it. Seems like some internal snafu, probably around the product and the rules that just didn’t pass muster. Although – was surely SO far along in the process. Ah well, we’ll never know as you say.
To produce a set of rules so bad GW wouldn’t release them would be a spectacular achievement.
it was weird that they wanted to publish their own rpg despite having cubicle 7 doing pretty much all of their rpg’s.
Or maybe they were just ‘testing the waters’ and got so much negative feedback that they decided it wasn’t worth it ?
There’s also the chance that internal politics played a big part in this.
We won’t know the truth until someone at GW is willing and able to tell us all.
Orlocks looks awesome. Will get this release for sure. Necromunda is my current hot jam.
Glad to see Necromunda getting strong support in ’27, but sad the RPG won’t be coming out after all. I’ll just have to write my own then…
Personally I cannot stand the new necromunda rules, but rpg was tempting. Oh well I have a necromunda 95 project idea
I’d like to get my hands on those new scum minis…shame we have to wait till winter 2027 to get hold of them.
Fab looking figures for the game table’s 👍👌
