Pre-Orders Now Available For Modiphius’ Sci-Fi Mech Game, Hardwar
July 27, 2026 by brennon
Modiphius are now taking pre-orders for the rules and some of the first miniatures for their 6mm Sci-Fi wargame, Hardwar. If you missed out on this before, this is a great opportunity to get started with your first miniatures and all of the gubbins you need for playing the game.
Hardwar Rulebook // Modiphius
Hardwar has been designed to be a simple, flexible set of rules for tactical Sci-Fi battles on the tabletop. Mix mechs with tanks, aircraft, dropships and more as you battle for control of resources and land on Earth. When you play, you could take on the role of a Private Security Company working for a corporate powerhouse. Maybe you're a rabble of rebels? You might even be the remnants of a nation state that is fighting to preserve what's left of their domain.
You can dive in with pre-built set-ups for your armies of dive deep into their construction and customisation systems in order to create a unique force to use on the battlefield. You'll also find over 100 weapons, skills, flaws and tactical assets for developing your battles and twelve combat missions plus rules for random missions and the From The Ashes solo and cooperative campaign.
Modiphius has also added the Extended Hardware options for Hardwar plus the No More Heroes expansion, introducing new skills and flaws. A great bundle of Sci-Fi resources for your 6mm battles.
If that got you interested, you can go and check out the Hardwar Quick Play rules and give it a go with your existing 6mm collection.
Hardwar Miniature Sets
To get you started, if you don't have 6mm miniatures, you can pick up two sets of miniatures that can be pitted against each other. Will you side with the Consortium Security Squadron?
Consortium Security Squadron // Hardwar
This set comes with eight 6mm high-quality multi-part resin miniatures alongside their plastic bases. You get a Verdun, Montgomery, Mauser Support, Svartalf, Raner, Mosstrooper AA, Longinusflystater and Zeus.
This powerful corporate entity now essentially owns the EU and uses the asteroid mining industry that it has developed to buy its own way should it need to. The only rule that now matters is that of the Consortium, and you do what they say. Or else.
If you want to look slick whilst kicking ass, you can also pick up the Syndicate Taskforce.

Energy makes the world go round and without it, your technology isn't going to be much use as anything other than a glorified paperweight. The Syndicate are now a mega salvage operation, plundering abandoned military bases and defunct power planets, stripping them of what they are worth and selling what they can to the highest bidder. Well, after taking what they need first of all.
This set comes with seven resin miniatures for the Buran, Boris, Geryon, Kutouv, Deimos and the Sapsan Assault. I think I prefer the design of the Syndicate miniatures overall but it might also be because of the paint scheme for the miniatures!
If you're playing 6mm wargames, you might also not have access to appropriate terrain. So, how about the Farm Life Terrain Set?

With resources so integral to the success of your war effort, fighting over something as simple as a farm is a bigger deal than you might think. This comes with another great set of detailed resin pieces for a Grain Silo, Farmhouse (twice!), Barn, Storage Tanks, Industrial Pump and a Chicken Coop. I cannot imagine how terrified the local farmers would be if they saw your mechs and tanks rolling towards them whilst they were putting the cattle out.
If you'd like to grab more for Hardwar, tokens, dice and cards are also available for you to pick up from the Hardwar section of the website. Take a deeper dive and get your pre-orders in.
Could you be tempted to dive into a new 6mm Sci-Fi wargame like Hardwar?

And if anyone is wondering what happened to the old Antenociti’s Workshop vehicle designs, you will see quite a lot of them in there. I suspect this means they aren’t coming back at 28mm, which is a shame. However, as a fan of those designs, it’s also hard to not be a fan of this
Farm Life terrain is awesome looking! 👨🏻🌾
Nice! I grabbed a few of the mechs before Strato Minis sadly went under, but I’m glad Modiphius is giving this game a second chance.
Their kickstarter still has to deliver first … but I guess a bit of extra promotion can’t hurt.
Looks pretty cool! Usually the mechs are the main show with tanks being secondary, but if these starter sets are anything to go by it looks a little more balanced between the two? That certainly makes it more unique in the genre if so.
