Kit Bashing
Up until now we have been playtesting with figures from our existing collections, using models from Star Wars Legion, Fallen Frontiers and Gates of Antares among others. However, one of the cheif aims of the RoE project is to open up new possibilities for kitbashing and repurposing models from other ranges.
It was high time to build a force specifically for this project and see where that journey would take us.
I’ve been exploring lots of model ranges on line but time and again have found myself gravitating back to the wealth of plastic kits that GW have available. In particular the Necromunda models have really caught my eye. I picked up a Van Saar gang as well as a box of Tau that I’m intending to mash together!
As my good buddy Phil is along for the ride, I got him this awesome new set of Imperial Guard for his birthday, along with the Cadian upgrade set to add some variety.
I really wanted to create something different from any of the models I have collected over the years. I put this guy together as a kind of proof of concept for what I am hoping to achieve. Something akin to the cover art of this project, leaning into a Japanese sci fi asthetic.
Meanwhile Phil was busy removing skulls and Aquilas to create his take on a near future commando, dressed in a camouflage poncho and armed with a modified rifle.
