It's unboxing time once again. This week we're heading off into the vast void of Space to witness the epic Alien vs Predator battle.

Today's challenger is a combination between both alien races, the Predalien from Prodos Games.

Whilst I think this is a great unboxing, and it’s a nifty mini, I feel perhaps with so many KS backers still not having received their pledges from Prodos perhaps the timing on this is a little off?

Thought I spied some AVP boxes in the back ground of Warrens recent Vlog regarding Team Yankee 🙂

@tresilliian – Agreed there is a lot of negative press floating around at the moment but it is diminishing and Prodos are working hard to fix problems. Iv’e recently had a load of my KS stuff arrive so it is making it’s way out to backers bit by bit.

@dignity & @johnlyons – Great video, please keep them coming as it’s nice to see some positive stuff about AVP, helps keep those of us who are into the game up beat about it’s future.

As for the core set issues. We found limiting the Predators to one at a time on the board controlled by one player (ie one dies another spawns but when all three are dead, game over) makes the game much more even. Also, allowing the Predators a chance to heal up a bit between missions (even dead ones coming back as a game balancing effect) gives them a much more campaign feel.

@davebpg yes I think/hope you’re right on that.

I really is such a shame. This game and the minis they have created are fantastic, and sadly all the positivity has been hammered by the really horrific press they have received.

Nice unboxing, look forward to getting my hands on it.

but as a AVP KS pledger, its stings a bit that Prodos is selling this stuff from their webstore, whilst backers are still waiting for wave 1 shipments (australia & new zealand backers)

@tresilliian Agreed. I’m not saying the AVP kickstarter hasn’t had more then it’s fair share of issues, but Prodos are not a fly by night outfit and people will get their stuff eventually. The minis really are fantastic, some of the best Iv’e ever seen. Only Forge world can match them IMHO.

@rickoshea The core set needs the odd house rule here and there but it’s not a big deal.

I got my first installment recently, including one of these beasties. I have not had time to play the game or do any more than take a quick look at the minis but they look great. It the game needs tweaks, so be it.

Yeah, put in over $400 into that KS and have not even received the base game yet. Sent an email to the [email protected]

Would love to play this and even buy into some of the other Prodos merchandise if they would true up with me on this. Heck, just respond to my emails…

As @redben said, definitely a provocative unboxing
One look at the 24-page thread for AvP backers would tell you the sentiment around this game and Prodos at the moment.
The people who were excited about this game were the backers, many of these same backers who are still waiting for any sign of a shipment of the basic game that has been on retail stands since end of June last year. All we’ve received is endlessly shifting deadlines.
Prodos will never get another penny out of me

So sad….want to love this game but as a KS backer and nothing received its hard to keep the interest going. Especially as my retail store has it sat on shelf for 9 months plus..

Anyways good to see you guys continue to cover all the smaller ranges, and these minatures do look fantastic on screen

I have to agree with many of the others about the KS.

I have no problem if companies have issues, that is often unavoidable and not always their fault. It’s rather galling to say the least, however, when the game has been available to buy for many months (in at least one case, for me, from a friend selling his retail purchased copy second hand) and I’m still waiting for my pledge. I could have paid a lot less and received the game months earlier… not what I was expecting from a KS. Pity.
